I took a class in discrete applied mathematics at M.I.T. I took a class in number theory. I also took a class in combinatorics. I taught myself probability and passed the actuarial probability exam. (I had the deeper theoretical background of measure theory, and simply coupled it with the combinatorics.) I studied mathematics at M.I.T. for many years. I came to Georgia to get a doctorate in philosophy. I have been teaching and tutoring for a decade at various colleges, including Athens Technical College, University of Georgia, Piedmont College, and the University of South Carolina, Upstate. [more]

I've taught probability for nearly a year and tutored various levels of math for an additional two. I've taken and passed Discrete Math with an A at UC Berkeley. I am a first year PhD student in Electrical Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. I specialize in signal processing and machine learning. I TAed probability and statistics for a year. I graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. While at Berkeley I TAed some introductory computer science courses and tutored high school math for roughly 2 years. I have always performed [more]

I took and earned an A in MA 293, a discrete mathematics course at Boston University where I received my BA in mathematics. In my physics studies I have applied my knowledge of discrete mathematics to statistical mechanics, where combinatorics define the probabilities of configurations of particles and lay the foundations of statistical distributions. When appropriate, I have tutored my colleagues in various topics in discrete mathematics such as set theory, counting, and propositional logic. I have tutored through the National Honor Society. While tutoring in the math lab at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB), I tutored at least one student (taking the course) every week. I've worked in the math lab for several years. I am a PhD graduate of the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). I've been teaching and tutoring mathematics for over 10 years. My strongest personal characteristics in tutoring are that I'm good with children and adults with anxiety or attention deficit disorder, patient with the student, and encouraging. There are objectives that I have when tutoring the student: explaining the material so that the studen [more]

I took discrete Mathematics in my undergraduate at Morehouse College. I passed the class with an A. I am also a high school and college math teacher. I am a highly adaptive teacher, and I take pleasure in learning students? weakness to help improve their overall learning skills. While learning is important, I advise students that success is not only achieved in the classroom but in life as well. My tutoring specialties, at this point, mostly include such math areas as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Calculus, SAT Math and ACT Math preparation. I work with students ranging from 5 [more]

My background as a computer science major and a mathematics minor means that I have been taught this subject from the perspectives of both computer science and mathematics. I have specifically covered discrete math in 2 courses at length and in additional courses to a lesser extent. Hello potential students, My name is Grant. I am a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota. My major was computer science with a minor in mathematics. I am looking to help others through tutoring because I know how much it can help to have personal help when you are struggling with a subject. My [more]

I have been a statistics and mathematics tutor for over fifteen years. I have tutored middle school, high school, college undergraduate, and college graduate students in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, probability and statistics, Microsoft Excel, and ACT/SAT/GRE/GMAT Math Prep. My relevant job experiences include teaching statistics and probability courses at the college level at Purdue University for two years, where I received a Graduate Student Teaching Certifi... I received an A in Discrete Mathematics at College. The course covered sets, symbolic logic, proof structures, graph theory, sequences, recursion, and more. I have also taken many logic and proof courses that use Discrete Mathematics. Therefore, I have a lot of practice and experience in the subject. Hi, I am a recent college graduate from Berry College with a BS in Mathematics and a minor in Business Administration. I started working at the UGA Science Library in June of 2015 and love helping all levels of students in the Athens Community. I have just begun working on my Masters in Environmen [more]

I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in mathematics. I have taught, tutored or taken classes in sets, sequences, summations, permutations and combinations, probability, graph theory, automata theory, computational complexity, number theory (congruence and recurrence relations), relations and logic. I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in mathematics. I have six years of formal math teaching and tutoring experience. My experience includes working with students from middle school through university graduate school. I have provided formal tutoring to traditional and non-t [more]

My undergraduate and graduate coursework included a wide range of subjects. This includes courses such Topology, Number Theory, Abstract Algebra and much more. Therefore I am certain that I can tutor discrete math excellently. I have worked in the school community for over five years and I have worked in all avenues of education. I have successfully completed my math content GACE exams, which make a highly qualified teacher for 6-12 grade mathematics. I have taught all levels of mathematics, starting from the elementary level all the way to the college.I have successfully assisted in curriculu [more]
