In my time before becoming a math teacher, I was a tutor at Florida International University and this was a subject that I would tutor at least two to three times per week during my years as a tutor. I am very familiar with all the topics involved in the class. I am also the sponsor for my school's math honor society and I teach those students man of the topics covered in this class. I have a bachelors degree in Mathematics and have completed Masters courses in mathematics as well. I am currently working as a high school math teacher and teach Geometry and AP Calculus AB and BC. I have worked [more]

I took Discrete Math during my time at UM and received an A in the course. Since then, I've tutored many students throughout the entire course, as well as on specific areas including set theory, combinatorics, logical proofs, cardinality, boolean algebra, induction and recursion, etc. A lot of students have difficulty understanding the somewhat arcane notation used, especially since the course is an introduction to higher level abstract math, but I've had much success in helping my students comprehend material and excel in their coursework. Hi, I'm a certified secondary math teacher from FIU. While I was going to school I was very lucky to have found a program that helped math teachers to become better teachers by tutoring us while we took the hard math classes and by giving us the opportunity to tutor other students after we took the class. I was able to learn at a deeper level since I had to be able to understand well enough to be able to explain it later. Discrete math was on of the subjects that I took and tutored. I believe there is an unlimited amount of learning available from any of these courses and tutoring for me is a [more]

Over two decades ago I was invited by Concordia University to teach math in the Faculty of Commerce, Department of Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems. My career started with Probability and Statistics for Science and Economics, and Quantitative Methods, teaching students in the MBA program. Discrete Math is an active branch of contemporary math that is used in business, finance, economics, and the life- and social sciences. My first cycle degree, BSc - Math/Economics, positioned me to influence students' perception of the usefulness and applicability of math, and Discrete M [more]

Discrete mathematics is the study of mathematical structures that are fundamentally discrete rather than continuous. In contrast to real numbers that have the property of varying "smoothly", the objects studied in discrete mathematics ? such as integers, graphs, and statements in logic ? do not vary smoothly in this way, but have distinct, separated values. Discrete mathematics therefore excludes topics in "continuous mathematics" such as calculus and analysis. Discrete objects can often be enumerated by integers. More formally, discrete mathematics has been characterized as the branch of math [more]

I took the standard discrete math course that covers sets, logic, relations, functions, combinatorics, and graph theory. I've also taken specialized courses in combinatorics, axiomatic set theory, graph theory, and number theory. I have then gained experience tutoring discrete mathematics by helping many computer science majors pass this required course. It is this experience that has helped me to develop my ways of explaining the various concepts contained in the course. Math can be difficult - but it doesn't have to be. To understand it takes curiosity, a willingness to learn and a tutor [more]

I passed Discrete Math, MAD 2104, at Miami Dade College North Campus, as transient student with a grade of B on Spring 2017, and then transferred the credits to Florida International University, FIU, my home college. My name is Oswald M. I have passed a FINRA.org Series 7 General Securities Representative License examination. Also, I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Law and a Certificate in Finance. Throughout my career, I concentrated and polished my skills in Finance that later sprung my passion about Mathematics. I am currently pursuing a combined program [more]

I have my degree in Mathematics and Economics. The material for Discrete Math is covered in my Bachelors program since I have taken various math subjects. I have privately tutored for about 20 years. I like to create a partnership environment for tutoring. I have a passion for changing lives through tutoring. My goal is to help you succeed. My strengths are math classes for grade school, high school. I can tutor for Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Intro to Probability, Intro to Statistics and Accounting 1 and Accounting 2. My style is adaptive to the student. I first work [more]
