I have taught Discrete Math once at the freshman level, and I have taught Finite Math several times. In fact, I was a champion of curriculum reform at one university where I was teaching in order to bring a Discrete Math course into our courses. Needless to say, not only do I know a lot about the topics in Discrete Math, but I also enjoy those topics! I hold two master's degrees -- one in applied mathematics, one in physics. I started teaching math in 1999. While many of the intervening years saw me as a part-time adjunct instructor of mathematics, I did enjoy a full-time appointment to the ma [more]

I taught Math 110 (Discrete Math) several times at UAH. These are the topics, straight from the catalog's course description: ? college algebra ? sets and the algebra of sets, including the set operations and relations ? logic and the algebra of logic, including logical operations and relations ? combinatorics, including permutations and combinations ? elementary probability and its applications ? descriptive statistics ? an introduction to matrices and their operations and applications Hi, I'm Cliff. I own a Master's in Math (UAH 2004) and have twelve years experience as a math instructor [more]

I have taught college level business mathematics, which deals with introductions to systems of equations, vectors, graph modeling, probability models, and business models that are limited to the real number system. On October 7, 2013, I completed my PhD in Mathematics and Science Education. My accomplishment demonstrates that it is possible to overcome life's obstacles. As a teenager, I hated math and struggled with it during my middle and high school years. My father, on the other hand, being a great mathematician, motivated me to learn the subject. I have been where you are. I understand the [more]

I am certified to teach Mathematics, grades 6-12. I tutored Discrete Math at Athens State University for a year and a half. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Education. I was a Geometry teacher this past year. I loved teaching/helping/mentoring/disciplining my students/children. I decided to leave the teaching world for multiple reasons. A few reasons were because it's really stressful, time consuming (roughly 70 hour weeks I dedicated), and I realized I was only passionate about my students (not anything else related to teaching). I am currently tutoring three stude [more]

I majored in math at Western Kentucky University. One of the math courses I took was Discrete math. In this course we dealt with logic, probability, counting, and mapping. So I had exposure to all of these in the class. I did my undergraduate career at Western Kentucky University in mathematics and electrical engineering. I graduated with an overall GPA of 3.87. I then did graduate work at Tennessee Technological University in electrical engineering. My project focused on chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and physics. I graduated with a GPA of 3.88. In my free time, I enjoy spend [more]
