Discrete math includes a wide variety of mathematical topics and is utilized heavily in computer science. I have taken discrete math at the college level and am very familiar with set theory, sequences, matrices, and graph theory. Hello students and parents, My name is Justin, and I am a software engineer at Google in NYC. In my spare time, I do private tutoring with a specialization in math, computer science, and SAT/ACT prep. I enjoy working with students and sharing my passion for math & CS. It is always my goal to not only help students understand the concepts, but also to make things fun [more]

I have worked several years at Montclair Satate Univeristy and now at Columbia University teaching several subjects in math at the undergrad and graduate level such as discrete mathematics and finite mathematics. I started by working with professors as a TA, initially and currently also tutor students in math education department. I'm familiar with proofs, number theory, and combinatorics. I'm an experienced certified teacher in NJ, currently pursuing a Doctorate in Math Education and Applied Mathematics at Teachers College Columbia University. I've been teaching and tutoring for over 18 years [more]

I recently took (and earned an A) in an undergraduate discrete math course as part of my second bachelor's degree in math (degree in progress). I can help other students who are taking undergraduate discrete math to better understand the material and prepare for exams. The textbook I used in class was Discrete Math and Its Applications, 7th edition (by Kenneth Rosen). My love of teaching comes from a lifelong love of learning. As a summa cum laude graduate, I know that hard work and dedication to learning can pay off. As one of the top 50 Wyzant tutors nationwide for several years, I have [more]

I have earned a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics from Hunter College of CUNY. As part of the master's program, I had to do many high level courses in discrete math. I have also taught discrete math at the university level. Specifically, at Hofstra University as an adjunct instructor of math. Therefore, I am very confident in tutoring discrete math! Dear all, I am a retired high school math teacher with over 29 years of experience. I am also an adjunct lecturer of mathematics at Hofstra University and Touro college. I am able to tutor math from 9th grade algebra thru college [more]

When I took Discrete Math in college, the professor taught the course using a combination of theory (proofs, etc) and Python programming assignments, and this combination of theory and coding really solidified my understanding of discrete math. I love teaching this subject because of the wide array of topics that can be covered and described in relation to each other (graph theory, set theory, functions and relations, binary trees, structural induction, combinatorics, etc). I held recitation for the discrete math course at Stern College in Yeshiva University during Fall 2017. [more]

I have extensive knowledge of Boolean Algebra, Graph, tree, Recursive Function, Heaps. Solved Couple hundred problem from Discrete Mathematics by Kenneth H Rosen. And also wrote a 10 page paper on Prime-Fibonacci number. I am a current undergrad student at the City University of New York, Queens College, majoring in computer science. Looking for an opportunity to help our generation to accomplished dream. To reach our destination as computer science student I realized determination is the key and practice is the key-hole. Tutoring is one of the best ways to deal with it. Strong knowledge o [more]

I completed my bachelor's degree in Honours Electrical Engineering at McGill University. I took several Honours math classes in my first year and received A grades in all of them. Many of our other classes, such as signals and systems, involved the use of discrete and finite math, so I'm also knowledgeable about the practical applications of these fields. I also did peer tutoring in in my last two years at McGill in engineering mathematics and other topics. I'm a dedicated, experienced math and science tutor who's had the privilege of teaching many diverse and bright students at the universiti [more]

Discrete Math is a collection of various other Math subjects including Logic, Combinatorics, Graph Theory, Algorithms, and more. I have studied each of these, either in a class devoted to the (like a course in Symbolic Logic alone) or in classes which contained them as special topics (for instance I learned Graph Theory through studying Probability, Abstract Algebra, and other subjects). So I am familiar with all of the usual topics covered in such a course. Hi, I am a graduate from Columbia University, fulfilling a bachelor's program in Mathematics as well as a master's program in Philosophy. [more]

I am currently a Ph.D. student and teaching assistant at Stevens Insitute of Technology, having previously graduated from NYU's Courant Institute for Mathematics with a Master's in Science. I am proficient in the teaching of all subjects at the high school and undergraduate level. I have been involved in the tutoring of peers and younger classmates in mathematics since high school. I have experience in tutoring high-school algebra and geometry, precalculus, calculus, and statistics, as well ... [more]

I have experience tutoring students in discrete mathematics topics such as probability, set theory, cardinality, orderings, relations, functions, combinatorics, counting techniques, recurrence, number theory, logic, and applications of matrices. I am comfortable explaining abstract mathematical concepts in simple and clear ways and can help with problem sets requiring discrete math techniques. I grew up in Manhattan and went to P.S. 6 for elementary school and the Brearley School for middle and high school. I graduated from Princeton with a B.A. in Mathematics in 2013, and then worked at Morg [more]
