Discrete math is math with discrete variables (integers). While not having taught an actual discrete math course itself, I did teach the topics that are in it in other courses. I taught probability and combinatorics in statistics (college level) , logic operators in math for computer programming courses (college level), set theory in algebra courses (college and high school levels) and coding and graph theory as individual topics in Integrated math courses (high school level). I also had graph theory and coding as part of math coures that I took in my undergraduate math degree. I have a m [more]

I have taught Discrete Math six times in the NC public school system. I developed most of the curriculum from scratch. I am very knowledgeable of the subject matter in this course. I offer tutoring for high school and middle school math including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Common Core Math 1, 2, & 3, Intro to College Math (ICM), Advanced Functions & Modeling (AFM), and Discrete Math. I have been a high school math teacher and math tutor for over 15 years and I service Wake Forest, Youngsville, Franklinton, Creedmoor, Oxford, Butner, and surrounding areas. [more]

I have tutored this subject successfully in the past. In the past I was both a faculty high school mathematics instructor and a junior college instructor. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and my math skills got me through it; that material is far tougher than discrete math, but more importantly I explain mathematics well. Tutoring is my full time job. With well over 20 years of teaching/tutoring experience, I doubt there are many tutors as patient, talented or effective as I am. I bring a lot more to the table than what you see "on paper" and am constantly told by my students how [more]

I have taken three whole college classes with various discrete math topics. However, this subject is so broad that it could include any number of concepts. Although I am familiar with 90% of discrete math concepts taught in high school and undergrad, I may need to refer to notes for a few topics. This usually works out fine and I extend the lesson appropriately at no charge if needed. Current availability: I am booked with standing appointments at times when traditional students are available (after school and weekends), but I can work students in when I have cancelations. I have plenty o [more]

I have a MS in mathematics and was a teaching assistant for discrete mathematics as a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire. I also took probability and several statistics courses along with many abstract algebra courses on the way to my MS degree. I have years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have taught at both the high school and collegiate level and I was an academic support specialist which is essentially a professional college tutor for years. I currently tutor MCAT prep for a major national tutor company and I am consistently very highly ranked and I was a Kaplan MC [more]

In my time as an undergraduate, and later as a mathematics graduate student, I took and passed courses in number theory, modern algebra, and combinatorics. These constitute, on the whole, branches on the tree for which the Discrete Math course attempts to serve as basic stem. I have and currently do tutor students in the aforementioned courses, particularly first courses at the undergraduate level. My own philosophy with regard to this material is that the student must collect as many basic examples of each type of system/theorem/algorithm as possible, in order to learn to distinguish the r [more]

I have a MS in Mathematics specializing abstract algebra and a PhD in Applied Mathematics specializing numerical analysis. I taught discrete and finite math at NCSU. I am a PhD Mathematician and a software engineer with tutoring experience in USA, Germany, and Korea. I have many years of experience in tutoring middle and high school students (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, AP calculus, probability). I also have experience in teaching college classes and mentoring interns (calculus, linear algebra, finite mathematics, discrete mathematics, probability, computer programming). I am especial [more]

Discrete math is also referred to as Finite Math and encompasses a wide range of non-recurring math concepts(excluding calculus). Through taking and excelling at Finite Math, I have first hand experience of the concepts that are studied and what the professors' expectations are. As a tutor who specializes in Math, I can help students with this tricky subject which is a mixed bag of concepts. I am a DC Public Charter School 2nd grade teacher in NE DC. Teaching is my career and passion. I have 10 years of tutoring experience and 5 years of teaching experience in a classroom setting. I can hap [more]

I have completed advanced mathematics coursework, including relevant topics in algebra, geometry, combinatorics, finite calculus, probability theory, differential equations, game theory, and discrete analogues of continuous mathematics. The following relevant topics pertain to my research work: logic, graph theory, decision theory, utility theory, and social choice theory. Andrew studied the basic and social sciences, searching for answers to some of life's biggest questions, including the role of nutrition in human health, the basis for human decision-making, and how to win in Monopoly. I have taught and tutored Discrete Mathematics on the high school and college levels. Additionally, some Discrete Math topics appear in Finite Mathematics and/or Statistics college courses. "Discrete" indicates that the topics use the Countable Numbers in Mathematics. The topics can vary from course to course. Some of the topics may include Set Theory, Number Theory, Graph Theory, Ways of Counting, Voter Theory, and Logic. My interest has always been in the teaching of mathematics, and how we learn and apply the tools of the subject. It has been interesting to observe and participate in [more]
