I taught discrete mathematics at the university level for several years. The discrete math courses were at two different levels. The introductory course was taken by students who went on to work in computer science or who became math teachers. The higher level class was for mathematics majors. Some of the topics covered were set theory, counting techniques, relations, functions, logic and proofs. Over the years, I've worked on good ways to present the logical material in discrete math and to find appropriate examples to explain the area. [more]

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. Discrete math, Finite Math, Linear Algebra and Logic are all early-level courses in this track, I feel confident I can help anyone with whatever problems they might have with these subjects. I've taught math in the classroom in Colorado. I've been tutoring since I was in high school myself. I have many different ways to approach different concepts and can probably find the best way for your needs. I am a certified math teacher who enjoys working with students and helping them to understand mathematics. Too often teachers can teach students how to work out math problems, however, it is the teacher who has the ability to help students learn the logic behind math problems takes the students to higher levels and experiences success for the student. Quite often if students learn math reasoning and theories, similar strategies can be used across the board (other curricula areas). Students learning to think for themselves is my goal as a teacher. I have an in-depth knowledge of discrete ma [more]
