As an undergraduate student at CU Boulder, I got an A in Discrete Math. In addition to this course, I also took Statistics and probability which involve a lot of discrete mathematics. In high school I loved science, math, debate and music; I studied Applied Mathematics in college. I just finished my Masters and I'm gearing up to start a PhD in fall '17. For the year, I am tutoring full time to pay down student loans, and because I love the work. I tutored privately in high school. As an undergraduate, I tutored for CU's Student Academic Services programs as well as taking courses with the [more]

I received a BS in Applied Mathematics and Professional Chemistry. Advanced coursework includes Calculus (I, II, & III), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Advanced Calculus, Programming in Mathmatica, Numerical Analysis, Experimental Design, Statistical Sampling, and Probability/Statistics. I also have four years of instructional assistance experience in mathematics at Butte College. During this time at Butte College, I also tutored students in mathematics (finite business and calculus), biology, chemistry, English, and physics; this was accomplished in a multi-disciplinary (science/ma [more]

I began tutoring discrete math privately four years ago, drawing on my background as a UCLA math major. I have been enjoying using all my years of experience in probability, statistics, and other math tutoring to help students in discrete math succeed in this challenging course. Even excellent math students often find themselves stretched to capacity in this highly diverse and sometimes exotic branch of mathematics. One of my greatest fulfillments has been to see failing students restored to passing grades! [more]

Discrete math includes topics such as summation with sigma notation, mathematical induction (both weak and strong), combinatorics, and graph theory. These are all subjects I have studied extensively in a variety of settings: in courses I took on the way to receiving my bachelor's degree in math, in my work over the past 30+ years tutoring students who were dealing with these topics in their courses, and privately just for my own pleasure. I have already enjoyed considerable success tutoring these topics outside the WyzAnt system, and I am eminently qualified to pursue these topics with WyzAnt [more]

I have taken a variety of Undergrad math courses including Discrete Math. Discrete is an interesting course that brings in probability, proof writing, logic, and number theory among other topics. I can help students to improve their understanding of how to write proofs, apply counting strategies, follow logic to reach conclusions, work with the Chinese Remainder Theorem, Fermat's Little Theorem, modular arithmetic, etc. I am currently in the Cal Teach Credential Program at UC Berkeley and am a High School Math Teacher. I have finished a math degree in CSU, Sacramento in 2001 with honors reward. I am an experienced math teacher of high school. I have taught all the math subjects in high school including algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, trig/ precalculus, AP calculus AB, BC and AP statistics. I am willing to help students catch up from the basic math skills to advanced learning. One-on-one tutoring or working in small group, I have all the different kinds of lesson plans and push my students learn logical critical thinking skills. My goal is to help kids enjoy math and love math. ... [more]

I have a B. S. degree in Applied Mathematics. I received the B. S. from University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have worked on all types of math problem over the span of three decades. I conducted research and development projects on solving mathematics issues. I have also been teaching since 2006. I have been working as a Substitute Teacher for a while. I teach Math and Science classes in middle school and high school. I support middle schools and high schools both in West Sacramento and Davis Joint Unified School Districts. Math and Science subjects are the two subjects that [more]

In research, discrete mathematics is a basic required tool. For any research in math, set theory and logic are the fundamental building blocks. Induction and counting arguments such as the pigeon-hole principle are used to an incredible extent when trying to prove a pattern in some complex concept. These are all components of research that I use with great care as one fallacy can ruin an entire paper. I am a Korean-American mathematics researcher at the University of Bonn. I have been tutoring for three years in the college setting. I generally tutor graduate and undergraduate mathematics, how [more]
