I have years of experience in discrete math. I took a number of courses in the subject. I've used the concepts during my years as a programmer and have tutored many students in the subject. I have a PhD in Economics from UCDavis and a Masters in Mathematics. I have a broad background in Math/Science and Economics. I have taught a number of courses and have previously worked as a GRE/GMAT/SAT/ACT instructor. I am well regarded as an excellent instructor and am able to deal with students with a wide range of abilities in math, finance and economics. I worked a number of years as a data analyst a [more]

I have a PhD in pure mathematics and can manage teaching discrete math courses. I have a PhD in Mathematics from Colorado State University in 2013. I have 5+ years experience teaching and tutoring undergraduate level math courses. I am available to tutor in a variety of math courses for grades 6 and up and also college level courses including algebra, calculus, discrete math, math for social sciences, probability and statistics. I can also help with SAT test preparation for math levels 1 and 2. I am passionate about teaching and have a never-give-up attitude. My experie... [more]

Increasingly, Discrete Math courses are being taken by majors in computer science, data science, and engineering, and often represent students' first encounter with proof-based math at a college level. This can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be! Discrete Math is an incredible subject with applications to many fields-- let me help you feel confident in it! As a math major, I wrote my senior thesis in combinatorics, which is essentially a narrower subfield of Discrete Math. I've tutored many students in Discrete Math, and have an excellent track record of success in support student [more]

For the past five years, I have taught and tutored discrete math for middle school, high school, and college students. My name is Robert. I have recently relocated from Boston from North Bay. I have a MFA in playwriting and an MA in mathematics because I am passionate about teaching and discovery. I have taught and tutored all ages from preschool through college, in all levels of biology, mathematics, physics, reading, and writing. For the past five years, I was the in-house substitute teacher for students preschool through grade 6 at Lesley Ellis School in Arlington. My nickname was ?Wober [more]

I began tutoring discrete math privately four years ago, drawing on my background as a UCLA math major. I have been enjoying using all my years of experience in probability, statistics, and other math tutoring to help students in discrete math succeed in this challenging course. Even excellent math students often find themselves stretched to capacity in this highly diverse and sometimes exotic branch of mathematics. One of my greatest fulfillments has been to see failing students restored to passing grades! [more]

I graduated from UCLA with a Chemical Engineering degree. I've taken discrete math and scored an A in it. Hello, I am Auster. I graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Dec. of 2013 with a Chemical Engineering degree with a GPA of 3.8. I have experience working to tutor first and second year college students in multi-variable calculus as well as physics. While working with them, I developed my own manual to best teach the material. I have a strong background in Math and Science, and I can teach all sorts of standardized tests including AP, SAT, and ACT. I have scored ov [more]

Discrete Math can be one of the most challenging of undergrad math courses. It is reminiscent of geometry, in that it has a main focus of "why", rather than the "what and where" of algebra and calculus. The symbolic language of Discrete Math is usually a bit challenging for most students. Upside down E's and A's can be confusing...Always....Sometimes... Getting to the details of each statement and it's composite statement of undeniable conclusion, can take more creativity than writing music or literature. Understanding in this course helps one define truth in other non-numerical topics as w [more]

Discrete math includes topics such as summation with sigma notation, mathematical induction (both weak and strong), combinatorics, and graph theory. These are all subjects I have studied extensively in a variety of settings: in courses I took on the way to receiving my bachelor's degree in math, in my work over the past 30+ years tutoring students who were dealing with these topics in their courses, and privately just for my own pleasure. I have already enjoyed considerable success tutoring these topics outside the WyzAnt system, and I am eminently qualified to pursue these topics with WyzAnt [more]

I have taught Discrete Math (Math 42) during Fall 2008 at San Jose State U. Also, I have a Ph.D. in Math and my research area/Master Thesis is closely related to Discrete Math. Fall semester is ending with finals in 3 weeks. I still have several openings typically around weekend. Please contact me for your Math tutoring needs (sorry can only serve local students around the Tr-Valley area due to transportation constraints: Pleasanton/Dublin/San Ramon and maybe Castro Valley, Danville). Groups are welcome with discounts (about 25 percent per student for a group of two). Usually I can give a s [more]

Discrete math is a fundamental skill for me as a data engineer. I use it frequently in my work and for higher level concepts that build on it. I also help people, ranging from high school students to adult learners, regularly with discrete math, whether they are just learning it, enhancing their skills, or preparing for an exam. I graduated with a BS in Computer Engineering. I specialize in teaching and tutoring computer science, math, and physics. Over the past five years, I have successfully worked with a variety of different students to achieve their goals?. I recognize that each student i [more]
