After taking courses called discrete math, I attended a summer workshop titled discrete mathematics. The course was designed for all age groups. Discrete mathematics is found in familiar settings. Most courses begin with many of the basic ideas in concrete settings, including games and general play, and progressively develop these ideas in more complicated settings and more abstract forms. Systematic listing, counting, and reasoning; modeling using graphs (networks) and trees; iterative (ie: repetitive) patterns and processes; organizing and processing information; and following and devising [more]

I have taken many courses at the undergraduate and graduate level from Penn State and Temple that contain the material in what is typically referred to as "Discrete Math". Hi everyone. I'm a math instructor at a local university and absolutely love doing math. I have taught and more specifically tutored math for over 12 years. I understand that not everyone likes math and that it can be stressful when a certain topic is not understood. I'm very patient, friendly, and like to break things down to the basics to help get through each topic. I hope help you with whatever challenges you are faci [more]

Because so many different mathematical disciplines fall under the umbrella of "discrete mathematics," it takes a "big picture" point of view to really appreciate the vast implications of its principal results. Counting, logic, set theory, probability, number theory, and several more subjects are all contained under the characterization "discrete math," as they all deal with constructions related to operations taken over the integers, and not requiring the full contiuum of real numbers, as in analysis. As a mathematics major and longtime tutor, I'm uniquely qualified to make sure students are [more]

I have a BS degree in Mathematics. My major includes Computer Science and Discrete Math. I am a holder of BS, MCP, MSE, IEEE and University degrees with double major in MATH and Electron Physics from Roosevelt University of Chicago and have completed 26 credit-hour postgraduate work in Mathematics, Electron Physics and Electronics at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. I have received an official Status of Eligibility to teach Mathematics (grades 5-9) and (grades 6-12) from the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Educator Certification. I have completed a backgr... [more]

I took Discrete Math when I was in college. I think this is the easiest college math course I know. I received an A in college, and I was close to perfection. I have tutored Discrete Math to local students for over 15 years. As a student, I was gifted in math. I went through school rarely scoring anything lower than a 95 in math courses. I routinely tested in the 99 percentile on standardized test, and as a 6th grader test showed I was already beyond the 11th grade level. I finished several college math courses with a 105 average. I started tutoring math in January of 2001. I have math tutorin [more]
