My University B.A degree from the University of California is Computational Mathematics, and I had to take upper division courses in discrete math. Discrete math is the study of mathematical structures and functions that are "discrete" instead of continuous. Being a Certified mathematics Teacher, grades 6-12, I have taught high school mathematics for many years. I have also been teaching various courses in math and French to University students as well. I am very patient and understand that some students have a fear of mathematics, often due to a lack of understanding the basics. Students ofte [more]

I was a Discrete Math TA at UCSD for 2 years and I became a TA in September 2013 immediately after taking the discrete math course and passing with an A. I can teach a variety of topics including: logic, quantifiers, proofs, graphs, sets, relations, induction and more. I graduated from UCSD in Computer Engineering with a 3.75 GPA. During my undergraduate, I was an undergraduate TA for three years for numerous Computer Science courses including data structures, discrete math, computation theory, and much more. I also did some private tutoring for a year after I graduated in the San Diego Area. [more]

During my time at University of California Santa Cruz I took Number Theory Math 110 and Graph Theory Math 115 because I was minoring in Theoretical Computer Science and these were perfect electives to satisfy the required courses to complete the Pure Math track. A huge part of the number theory course is modulo arithmetic, which is one of the foundations of discrete mathematics and another was Graph Theory which entailed matrix theory and many proofs involving trees. I also tutored many peers in my class and made friends in the Computer Science department that were taking the actual class cal [more]

I completed coursework at ASU in Discrete Mathematics and learned the language such as "there exists" and "for all". I learned problem-solving techniques to write proofs and express logic as it relates to computational science. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Masters in Geographic Information Systems from Arizona State University. As an undergrad, I studied Computers, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering and Technical Communications. My expertise is in High Level Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Logic, and Information Sciences. Addi [more]

I am currently teaching a secondary III math course in high school and have taught math the past 4 years ranging in grades from 9-12. I am a full time teacher who has been teaching for nine years. I am a full time teacher and high school soccer coach. I have been teaching for the past 9 years both at the secondary and elementary level. I work in Special Education. This has allowed me to co-teach in Biology, Language Arts, and various levels of math. I recently completed my masters in education from Southern Utah University as well as earning my administration endorsement. I teach Math, [more]

Discrete mathematics is particularly fun and intuitive subject for students that has useful application in the real world. I've personally used linear programming to solve a particular banking problem. In fact my PhD in Business Quantitative Analysis from the University of Wisconsin employs many of these topics. In addition I have obtained BA degree with a major in math from Dartmouth College as well as an MA in math and MBA also from the University of Wisconsin. Finally I am an excellent tutor with instructional experience at the high school and college levels [more]

I have taken discrete mathematics 1 and 2 at the university level. I have tutored in person people in those subjects. I am very comfortable with logic, proofs, number systems, operations, etc. My name is Dustin C. I attended UNLV and received my BS in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. I am also a third degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate where I taught students from ages 3 through adults. My take on education that education is primarily performance based. It is my job to understand what you know, what you need to know in order to accomplish your goals, and how we will get you to your [more]

My course qualifications have been met through completion of college coursework and 15 years of tutoring experience in discrete mathematics. Through the completion of the "UCLA Math 61" course, which including sets and relations, permutations and combinations, graphs and trees, induction, I gained the content understanding necessary to both teach and tutor the aforementioned content. Since then, I have successfully tutored dozens of computer science and economic students, at the University and College levels. [more]

I am comfortably tutor students an introductory course in discrete mathematics. The goal of this course is to introduce students to ideas and techniques from discrete mathematics that are widely used in science and engineering. I can teach the students techniques in how to think logically and mathematically and apply these techniques in solving problems. To achieve this goal, students will learn logic and proof, sets, functions, as well as algorithms and mathematical reasoning. Key topics involving relations, graphs, trees, and formal languages and computability are covered in this course. [more]

I taught discrete math in Angeles University Foundation, Philippines, while I was pursuing an MS in Mathematics. The bachelor's degree that I have earned is in mathematics. But before I came to United States, I was teaching Integral Calculus, Discrete Structures, Differential Equations, and Automata Theory at Angeles University Foundation College of Computer Studies. I taught there for 5 years (1995-2000), while I was taking my post-graduate (MS Math) studies. Right now, I'm working as a math teacher in a high school in Henderson. This means that I have a wide range of knowledge in math, [more]
