I am a licensed secondary teacher. I have taught and tutored pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, geometry and calculus at the middle and high school levels. I have also tutored a number of adults with college algebra and statistics. The adults I tutored unanimously agreed that their fear of algebra was silly once we started working together. All earned "A's" in college algebra. "But that's easy!" is the response I hope for and often get when I teach. I have been a licensed secondary (grades 6-12) teacher for over ten years. My first career was as a military officer. For some reason, when I retir [more]

I completed a discrete mathematics course at Washburn as part of my undergraduate mathematics minor. I took the class in the spring of 2006. I have helped several students with the course since then and have revisited many of the concepts in my further studies. I enjoy making math and science more fun and understandable for middle school, high school, and college students. I graduated in spring '08 with a BS in Physics and Math and in spring '10 with a Master's in Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. I was the physics department tutor and supplemental instructor in college for three [more]

I have a BA in Mathematics from Ohio State University and an MA in Mathematics from the University of Kansas. I have taken multiple courses in combinatorics and one class entitled discrete math. In addition I have complete research in combinatorics. I have a BA in mathematics from Ohio State University and am working on completing an MA in mathematics at the University of Kansas. I have taught many of the lower-level math courses offered at KU and have tutored students in many of the upper-level courses. I have a pretty wide availability this semester and can meet you either in Anschutz, Watso [more]

I've taken Algebra 1 and 2. Within those classes, there are discrete questions. I proved to not be too difficult for me to handle these problems as I did well. Hello! My name is Kayla. I live in Brentwood CA and am wanting to move to Nebraska with my boyfriend as soon as possible. Here, I work for the Antioch Unified School District with kids without, but mostly with special needs, ages preschool to middle school. I absolutely love my job, love kids and would love one similar in Nebraska. I help the kids with their behavior and schooling. Children are so important to me and I believe they need [more]

My usage of discrete math has been primarily in the form of computer programming and computer logic. For several years I did custom programming for several systems. I (along with a partner) developed a complete computerized auto body system that was used completely manage an auto body shop form measuring damage in vehicles to shop management. It could be used by all the auto body systems. I have 10 years teaching experience at Jr Hi, Secondary, and Post-Secondary levels. I hold a FCC Commercial Radiotelephone and Amateur Extra Licenses. I am located in Sturgeon - midway between Columbia, Mob [more]

I was a graduate teaching assistant for Discrete Mathematics twice at UC Berkeley. Additionally, my PhD dissertation made extensive use of techniques from discrete mathematics, so I have a good familiarity with the subject, both in its basics and in current research. I love teaching at all levels and became interested in tutoring online after I finished graduate school because I missed it. I got my undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, my masters (M2) from Universit? Paris Diderot, and my PhD from Berkeley, where I studied logic. At Berkeley, I won two awards for teaching a [more]

I have taken graduate course work in combinatorics, graph theory, and probability. I have conducted research on the application of graph theory to environmental problems and trained undergraduates for this research. I have taught probability at the college-level. I have graduate degrees in mathematics and biology and more than 20 years? experience teaching high school and college students; I have been tutoring for as long, especially in math, science, and writing. My experiences as an educator are diverse, having worked with students from many backgrounds, and I understand that a student?s ch [more]

Discrete Math has its own unique mathematics profile, dealing with the study of functions, matrix math, permutations and combinations, the Binomial Theorem, Pascal's Triangle, fundamentals of probability, etc. with each topic a discrete math construct in itself, not dependent on other topics necessarily in the scope of a given Discrete Math course. Because I have accrued university-level engineering mathematics through Calculus I & II, and taught a variety of math courses, including Algebra I & II, Plane Geometry, Trigonometry, and Analytical Geometry, with an excellent math library at hand, I [more]

As a math minor at Westminster College, I have excelled in the subject of discrete mathematics, proving many theorems and equations. Discrete math has been my favorite math class so far and I enjoy showing my work to others. I love what I do. I swim on my own as well as with the U.S.A. swim team. I have just graduated from Westminster with a major in chemistry, and am now working with the National Geographic educational program, Animal Jam. I am a beekeeper, and my principle role at Animal Jam is to present on camera to produce educational videos about animals, primarily bees and other insects [more]
