I learned discrete math in University of Washington. Discrete math is the study of math structures that are fundamentally discrete rather than continuous. Discrete math includes sets, functions and relations, matrix algebra, finite probability, graph theory, finite differences and recurrence relations, logic, mathematical induction, and algorithmic thinking. I taught linear programming, critical path method, queuing system and forecasting in Chapman University included functions and relations, conic systems, matrix algebra, probability. [more]

I have worked throughout the digital revolution of the past 30 years as a electronic designer, programmer, to discrete electronic components that are required to make CPU's, ADC's, DAC's, memory, etc. The topics that are included in today's discrete math are tools that I've used continuously to achieve the published research results during my career. I have a BSEE, MSEE and PhD, with more than 25 years of direct practical experience while working as an electrical engineer and solid-state physicist in a variety of industrial positions. I have been tutoring math and science subjects to student [more]

I have studied Discrete Math and other cornerstone mathematical subjects extensively at Harvey Mudd College and during my 6-year Ph.D. program at UC San Diego. In fact, my Ph.D. is in Probabilistic Combinatorics, an area of Discrete Math. I am qualified to teach college level mathematics and have done so for numerous topics including the Calculus series, Linear Algebra, Complex Analysis, and Number Theory (which is usually covered briefly in Discrete Math courses). Hi! I'm Alex, and my goal is to help you not just learn to do your math and science assignments, but to really love and apprecia [more]

My major for Bachelor and Master Degree is Applied and Computational Mathematics. I've taken Discrete Math I and II at college and got B and A, respectively. I just finished my Bachelor and Master degrees at Rochester Institute of Technology in Applied and Computational Mathematics, and a minor in Mechanical Engineering. I took most of the math classes at RIT, including fundamental math classes (for example, Calculus, Multivariable, Linear Algebra, Differential Equation, Statistic, etc) high-level math classes (for example, Discrete Math, Graph Theory, Real Variable, Abstract Algebra, etc). I have taught semester courses in number theory and combinatorics at Reed College. I have been teaching at Reed College since 1989 and now am looking to do some tutoring beyond that venue in anticipation of retiring soon. In light of my work experience, probably I am best suited for now to work with advanced high school students or college students, or with precocious younger students. My teaching method starts with trying to find the student's points of strength and understanding, and then building on those to address challenges or difficulties. I enjoy helping peop... [more]

I have a Master's degree in mathematics and have spent my whole adult life teaching it. I've taught math to students from 47 different countries on every continent and from elementary school to graduate school. If you're looking for a quick brush-up you may want to look elsewhere: I specialize in pushing for deep, solid mastery that sticks for years and helps with future classes. 'Discrete Math' can often refer to two fairly different classes: one is a relatively low-level course aimed at non-science majors, and the other is an elementary combinatorics/graph theory course aimed at computer sc [more]

I have taught Discrete Math several times during my time teaching at Brigham Young University Hawaii. My student evaluations were consistently positive. My students were able to show proficiency in the subject during subsequent coursework. I am a licensed math teacher with a BS in Mathematics and a Master's degree in teaching math. I have experience teaching at the university, high school, and middle school levels and am qualified to tutor virtually any math course. I believe in making math fun. I believe in helping my students truly understand key concepts, not just memorize and regurgitate [more]

I have tutored mathematics & accounting for that last 9 years. I covered Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Linear Algebra, Probability, Discrete Math, Principal Economics, Finite Math, Differential Equations, Logic, Statistics & Trigonometry. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, 2003 and currently am also working on my Master's in Financial Accounting in Portland State University. I use different techniques in tutoring different kind of students to get the information transferred clearly and with joy. I give homework, quizzes and I check the student's previous exams to address his weaknesses [more]
