Discrete mathematics is concerned with the relationships among mathematical structures that are discrete instead of continuous. For example, the arithmetic of integers would be a topic in discrete mathematics, whereas the arithmetic of all real numbers is in the realm of continuous mathematics. Broadly speaking, the topics in discrete mathematics include, but are not limited to, the following: logic, proofs, set theory, number theory, linear algebra, graph theory, probability, permutations and combinations, algorithms, and computability theory. I have experience in these areas through my un [more]

As an undergraduate at UTA, I have taken discrete mathematics and advanced discrete mathematics. I did well in both courses, and I thoroughly enjoyed the material. I've worked in a tutoring or teaching role for most of my adult life, and I love helping other people learn! While earning my B.S. in math, I worked in my university's math clinic, tutoring a variety of (math) subjects, and while I was in graduate school I was a teaching assistant in the math department for two years, and for one year I worked in a high school geometry classroom, both enriching the students' education and my abilit [more]

I registered for Discrete Math during the fall 2014 semester at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. I completed the course and received an 'A' in the course. I have been working as a Math Tutor for the last 1 1/2 years. Hello, I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I currently attend TWU where I am pursuing a master of science degree in mathematics. I am a pre-algebra math professor at TWU and NCTC in the Denton/Corinth area. I own a business in private math tutoring services and tutor high school and college students of al [more]

In my Masters program at Rice, I've had extensive studies in discrete optimization and graph theory. I'm also the co-author of a graph theory paper (currently submitting for publication). - 13 years of classroom experience (in the public school systems of Philadelphia, Cambridge and Houston) - over 15 years tutoring experience - Masters in Education from the University of Pennsylvania - Currently a grad student in Applied Mathematics at Rice University My specialty is high school math, but I have experience teaching all ages and all levels of math, from the most elementary concepts to univers [more]

I am Texas certified LIFE for all mathematics for MS and High School I believe in the building block methods; proceed to next assignment when ready. I am a Texas certified Math teacher with a BS and M/Ed majoring in math and education from Texas State. I will help one to succeed and pass school math tests and prepare for graduation. I am Texas certified in Math/Comp.Sci. I will need to see the text, assignments by the teacher, past tests, and areas of miss-understanding.... [more]

I have a degree in secondary mathematics education from Baylor University. I have A's on my transcript in classes that require this as a prerequisite. During my time at Baylor I tutored several peers in classes that covered the same content. My name is Sarah. I graduated from Baylor University with a major in secondary math education. During my time there I not only encountered a variety of teaching atmospheres, but I was taught a variety of styles. My internship was completed in a pre-calculus classroom, and I have two years experience teaching algebra I in Houston at cy-fair ISD. I then mo [more]

I am a Chemistry senior but I like math too. On my 7th semester in college I took discrete math even though I did not require it for my degree. I found it really interesting and was also among the few to make an A. I am also a certified CSE tutor. Hello all, I am Saurav, a chemistry graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University. I recently moved to Montgomery Village, Maryland. I have had experiences in on-campus tutoring as well as private tutoring. I have been trained to be a tutor as per the requirements of Center for Student's Excellence, an umbrella organization for tutoring centers. M [more]

As an introduction to counting methods (combinatorics) and proofs, Discrete Math is one of the first proofs courses I took at UT-Austin. I made an A in the class as well as in many other related upper division math classes, including Linear Algebra, Probability, Real Analysis and Topology. Although I have seen variability in the difficulty of this class, based on the aims of the different teachers teaching them, I have yet to need to turn anyone away and feel very comfortable with the material. I majored in engineering and minored in math. My career was in telecom/computers with extensive mathematical analytics. I tutor almost any college and high school math course. I get a thrill in watching the light turn on students' heads when they see how easy math can be once it's explained properly to them. I hear "My child has this or that learning problem..." but I've not met one yet that can't improve. I instill a lot of CONFIDENCE IN MATH in them. I've always tutored my 2 daughters... [more]

I am a math professor with a Ph.D. in statistics and a B.S. in math. I teach discrete math in all of my statistics courses. I also took discrete math courses when I was a student. I have a Ph. D. in statistics and a degree in Math and Statistics from USC. I am a professor of mathematics and statistics, and a graduate of Rice University. After graduating number one in my class, and working as a professor for almost 15 years, I have decided to tutor part time. I love helping students! I tutor all levels of mathematics and statistics from grade school to graduate school. My 30 years of tu [more]
