I took several levels of solfege classes using movable "do" from Berklee College of Music. I have done numerous transcriptions of recordings for pay as a professional musician. I have also taught solfegio and choir for 30 years as a professional music educator primarily with grades 5-12. I love teaching and tutoring and am happy to help you on your musical journey. I try to make each lesson individually tailored to who you are and what you hope to accomplish musically. Most times lessons are a blend of what you want to know, what you "have to know" and some fun! I grew up playing by ear a [more]
I graduated magna cum laude with a performance degree from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. I was therefore placed in the Honors Music Theory and Honors Music History classes (two years of subject matter condensed into one intensive year). Ear-Training and Solfeggio were constant disciplines which were tested with the professor (individually, in front of the entire class) at least weekly. [more]

I sang in choir for three years while in college and I use my ear training everyday. I compose music everyday and usually write on paper what I want. I usually sing aloud what I'm writing, due to my training in solfeggi while I was a child. While I was in college my ear training teacher gave us music dictations twice a week and though it was difficult, I learned a lot about music. I have been performing at the piano since I was a child. I have a Bachelor's degree in Piano and a Master's degree in Music Theory/Composition from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I accompany choirs and inst [more]
