I began teaching math as early as age 3, using first grade curriculum for my lesson plans, and allowing the child's natural abilities to set the pace at which I teach. Even at the first grade level, math starts with the basic concepts such as recognizing numbers, naming numbers, and counting, so I just jump right in.
