I have worked with kindergarten, and all grammar school level children having problems with elementary mathematics. Frequently, I work with elementary school students having issues in both math and English. At two Solano County libraries, I have worked as a walk in tutor helping youngsters improve their math and English skills. The students simply bring their homework to the library and I help them learn how to work the math problems. My teaching philosophy is that learning should be an enjoyable experience. I want to see your eyes alert, your mouth smiling, and your brain working! I emphasi [more]

I am comfortable with elementary math basics, as well as, understanding why and how to use the new core math at the elementary level. Much of my experience comes from homeschooling my own daughter for grades 2-8 while living abroad. I currently work as an aid at a local elementary school and as such I work with small groups of children on problem subjects such as math and reading. I am patient and understand that children have different ways of learning so I am open to trying a variety of learning styles to get the math concept across. [more]
