My qualifications make me the perfect Elementary Math tutor. First, I have experience teaching Elementary Math overseas in Korea and Taiwan. As an ESL teacher I designed a unique ESL program that included arithmetic. Since I taught all grades, I broke it down into addition and subtraction for first graders, multiplication and division for second and third graders, and a little more complex equations for fourth and fifth graders...all spoken in English. Second, I have also tutored Elementary Math as well. Any more information can be looked up at my Qualifications page. [more]

I have fifteen years experience as an elementary school teacher. Of those fifteen years, ten were in third grade. I am very familiar with common core and trained other teachers in how to teach common core math. As a child, teachers had a positive impact on my life. I decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher and help children the way that my teachers had helped me. To obtain this goal, I enrolled at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. In 1999, I graduated with a degree in elementary education. Since then, I have worked in an elementary school setting. [more]

I have 33 years of elementary teaching experience. I have a BS degree in elementary education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. My first two years of teaching were in a very small Missouri town called Metz. I became very resourceful during this period because this school had very little in the way of money or supplies. I then began teaching in my hometown of Haysville, Kansas, where I taught for 31 years until my retirement. I have a very long history of wor... [more]

During my career I made design calculations. I used formulas, ratios, percentages, fractions, decimals, exponents and graphs. I solved both equalities and inequalities observing operator precedence. I also frequently converted units of measure. I'm David. My career work was as an electrical designer and as an information systems programmer/analyst. My strategy for analyzing situations and solving problems has been to use what I know, research topics that I don't understand, design a solution and then improve that design or method. I have also been an avid learner using materials written [more]

My qualifications for teaching elementary math are addressed initially by my Kansas Department of Education certifications in two levels of secondary mathematics, including Middle School math, issued initially when Middle School started in 6th Grade. Many aspects of 6th Grade math are included in 7th and 8th Grade Pre-Algebra texts, so it is a grade-level of teaching with which I am acquainted, and I am confident that I can successfully tutor any 6th Grader who has a determination, but needing practice with math skill sets required.
