I learned to program in high school and learned Fortran. Through the years as newer versions of Fortran have been developed, I have updated my knowledge. I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science. As part of that degree, I studied a variety of computer languages to include C and C++. I can use a manual or book to refresh my skills and teach any programming language I taught AP Computer Science at a local high school. As a UNIX System Administrator, I was frequently called upon to write scripts to automate systems tasks in various shell languages. [more]

I passed a course in Fortran 4 in college. I programmed Fortran 4 on a Prime computer for four years in Worcester MA. I worked as a computer consultant for over 20 years. I have had many careers in my almost 62 years. I worked as a professional cook (5 years), a computer hardware technician (5 years), a computer hardware test tech instructor (2 years), a computer software consultant (20 years) , and a building contractor (12 years). I attended School at Central New England College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). I studied chemical and mechanical engineering and have a degr [more]

My first experience with Fortran was with Fortran IV and was one of the first programming languages I learned. I have helped students with Fortran 77 and Fortran 95 projects. I can provide Fortran resources, assistance with specific topics, or tutorials. I am a licensed math teacher with experience in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. I have experience teaching middle school science and a variety of computer courses at the high school and post-secondary level (including programming, networking, and operating systems). I have experience tutoring elementary, middle school an [more]

I have undergraduate degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science. For the last 14 years, I have been teaching Computer Science and my title is Associate Professor of Computer Science. Prior to teaching, I worked in the DoD arena and the commercial world developing Computer Systems. During my DoD work, I programmed in many different flavors of Fortran. I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at UWMC in Wausau, WI. I have undergraduate degrees in CS and Math from UWEC, and have taken courses in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. I have an Masters in Informa [more]

I consider myself to be a highly skilled FORTRAN programmer who is extensively experienced in scientific computing related to two- and three-dimensional structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, and granular flow problems. (I have in-depth knowledge of various computational methods including the finite element, finite difference, and differential quadrature methods, and general methods of numerical analysis.) I learned FORTRAN programming in 1972 for the computational work of my MS thesis (FORTRAN was the most prevalent programing language at that time). I have experienced writing codes in all t [more]

FORTRAN stands for FORTRAN TRANSLATION. It was one of the first programming languages. It dealt with implementing mathematical equations. One of the key features is that it recognized a FLOATING POINT variable. A typical addition operation might be A = B + C It is used in order of operations to evaluate mathematical expressions. It was not very good at text formatting. Hi Everybody, My name is Eli, and I may be the ideal tutor for you! I recently received my Ph.D. from Capella University. I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Mathematics. I tutor students in Math (pre-Algebra, Alg [more]

Fortran is one of several languages in which I regularly program, and which I also teach. At Brookhaven Lab, I developed numerous Fortran applications programs in many scientific fields (such as nuclear reactor simulation, crystallography, oceanography, atmospheric chemistry in turbulence), and was also responsible for maintenance of the Fortran compilers on the CDC supercomputers. At Grumman, Robotic Vision, American Science, and elsewhere, I wrote many routines in Fortran (and managed the development of many, many more). As a member of the Fortran Standards Committee X3J3 (and also the IS [more]

In a previous life, I worked for NASA, using a simulation program called EASY5 that was FORTRAN-based. Students working with me in FORTRAN should expect competence in the following areas: - input and output statements (and formatting of the same) - simple calculations - looping - logical statements (e.g. IF) - subroutines and functions A typical introductory class in FORTRAN would concentrate on those areas. Though there aren't very many of those classes offered any more. Most FORTRAN work is on legacy systems, and may involve conversion to C or something else. [more]

I have been a software developer for the past 25 years. I have taken Fortran while an undergraduate in college. I have written procedural and structured programs in Pascal, C. I have taught C, Pascal, Java while working as an Adjunct Lecturer. I have a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Computer Science. I have tutored students in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Calculus, Computer Programming. I have been a Computer Programmer for 25 years creating desktop applications in C/C++, Visual Basic. I have been a web developer for 12 years creating websites in Java/J2EE, O [more]
