I used Fortran for many years in high performance computing for climate research models and non linear finite element systems. I hold a M.S. in Mathematics and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics. Over time I have been working at colleges and universities in Germany, in France, and in the U.S. In addition I worked for a decade at research labs in Germany and in the U.S. (LBNL) and at a risk modeling company. Since 2010 I dedicate my professional attention full time to teaching mainly math and computer science as a tutor and lecturer. I currently teach at c [more]

I have work for more than four years as a research physicist. I have a track record of publications. I built a code in FORTRAN that uses parallel tempering to solve random-exchange Ising models on the Chimera graph. I am a research physicist who has applied machine learning to study problems in physics. I taught university physics lab in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, to optics for 3 years. It is rewarding when I can help students with understanding a concept. I also have expertise in programming. So, I can also help you to learn programming and with debugging your codes. I am a [more]

I have extensive experience in Fortran based on my physics research years, both on mainframe and personal computers. I also have a degree in computer science. I'm enthusiastic about tutoring -- I've been teaching and tutoring, as time permitted, starting when I was a graduate student. My BA is in Maths and Computer Science, my PhD is in Physics, I did postdoctoral work in Biophysics, I was on the Physiology faculty at a university in Canada, and now I work in the Biotech field here in the Bay Area. My approach when tutoring is to find a way to bring the student to that "aha" moment when thin [more]

I have been programming with Fortran since 2008 (six years) and I have done from simple to complex programming using Python. The expertise in Fortran allowed me to setup several programming workshop at my workplace with the 10 - 20 attendance. The outcome of these classes were very positive. I am sure it will be also a successful experience for tutoring classes. I went to UC Riverside for my PhD in mechanical engineering, my daytime job is at California Environmental Protection Agency as a research scientist and engineer. During high school I was part of International Physics Olympiad competit [more]

I received a BS degree in Computer Science at San Francisco State University. All basic programming course work used Fortran as the language. Further, my first 8 years employed as a computer programmer I used Fortran as the primary programming language. The programs I wrote involved actuary science theories and pension plan maintenance. Mathematical concepts have always come easy to me. It is a talent I was born with and enjoyed every subject from arithmetic, to geometry and trig, algebra and calculus, linear algebra and real analysis. It was an easy transition to computer science. My career t [more]

I've been a programmer in Fortran for about 10 years. I am self taught in this language. I feel having to learn it on my own gives me an excellent insight into the subject. I have tutored students privately off and on for over 20 years. I have also worked as an instructor in grad school and am very good at developing a rapport with my students. In addition, I am very patient and always ask about how they are progressing. I try to help elucidate relevance a material with concrete examples where possible.... [more]

I have over 6 years of experience developing software in FORTRAN for various scientific and management projects. I developed an assembly language dynamic interface to enable COBOL programs to invoke FORTRAN math routines. I understand FORTRAN syntax and its indexing issues, as well as how FORTRAN is compiled into machine code. I am a former teacher, mathematician, scientist, systems analyst/engineer, software engineer/developer, and program manager. I have a BS Mathematics and an MS Numerical Methods & Simulation Techniques. In addition to these degrees, I was also accepted for a PhD pro [more]
