Back when Fortran was popular, I did my entire masters thesis in magnetic resonance research in FORTRAN. I have over 1000 hours of experience in it. Thank you. I have twenty years of teaching experience with students at all levels of math and physics. I am available to tutor online or in person. I am very patient and know all sorts of little tricks to make math and physics easier to do and understand. I also am very experienced using software such as Geometer's Sketchpad and Mathematica to make concepts come to life. Hope to hear from you!... [more]

I am a Mathematician and Physicist, and have been programming computers in both Applesoft BASIC and Dartmouth BASIC for years. My professional experience is in FORmula TRANslation (Fortran), where I have solved several numerical Eigenvalue problem, either by adapting parts of standard code or writing my own. Due to the power of Excel, many elementary to advanced programs can be written via this package, which in fact, I do take advantage of. I also have a great library of MAPLE programs and Statistical packages, and have used some Mathematica. However, I have minimal passing familiarity w [more]

As part of my engineering studies, it was required that I take Fortran programming. I had studied Fortran IV, and have updated myself to the new Fortran VII. There are not too many changes. I can help you construct, test, debug, and run your programs. The process can be tedious; however, with a little time & patience, you can be successful. I also do C, C++, Java, MatLab, & Excel programming. ?Master Tutor? of Both High School & College Mathematics & Sciences Courses. -I work mornings, afternoons, or evenings. A background check is on file with WyzAnt if you needed. -I travel around m [more]

Fortran and Algol were my first languages in computer programming. I used Fortran in the development of realtime models for the Navy and used in for my master's thesis. I have been programming for over 20 years and taught numerical methods. I understand the logic of coding. I am an engineer, with degrees in Ocean Engineering (BS, MS), Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (MS), and Civil Engineering (PhD). I have taught high school and university students in tutoring and traditional classrooms. I have taught simple mathematics to complex numerical schemes, basic, core, and design engineering cou [more]

In a previous life, I worked for NASA, using a simulation program called EASY5 that was FORTRAN-based. Students working with me in FORTRAN should expect competence in the following areas: - input and output statements (and formatting of the same) - simple calculations - looping - logical statements (e.g. IF) - subroutines and functions A typical introductory class in FORTRAN would concentrate on those areas. Though there aren't very many of those classes offered any more. Most FORTRAN work is on legacy systems, and may involve conversion to C or something else. [more]
