I am one of the lead developers for MFiX, a 100,000 line Fortran code used in multiphase computational fluid dynamics. I have been coding in Fortran for three years. I'm a software engineer with 15 years experience. I've worked on a variety of systems and projects, mostly Java, C++, and Python. Currently I work on computational fluid dynamics code in Fortran and Python. Recently I completed my Master's in Computer Science at Penn State and would like to start tutoring in my free time. I enjoy helping students learn and succeed, and challenge myself to make sure I maintain mastery of the fund [more]

I have experience with several versions of FORTRAN including, FORTRAN77, FORTRAN95, and Compaq Visual Fortran. My undergraduate and graduate theses included creation of several programs for post processing of data and additional analysis. These programs included I/O portions to enable multiple uses. LET ME BE YOUR ACADEMICS PERSONAL TRAINER! OVER 20 YEARS OF PRIVATE TUTORING EXPERIENCE! YOUR ONE STOP SHOP WITH EXPERIENCE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SUBJECTS! I completed my PhD in nuclear engineering at Penn State. I have successfully instructed physics and several engineering courses at Penn [more]

I was a power user in Fortran for almost twenty years. I used Fortran to analyze large scale data on mainframe computers as well as workstation PC's. I provided Fortran training to graduate students and fellow researchers over the years. My passion in teaching was evident and well-recognized by my students during my 10+ years of teaching in college. I enjoy helping my students learn what they need to succeed, and I always make sure to explain not only the concepts, but also the rationale behind those concepts. I have an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Finance. In [more]

Fortran is one of the oldest and still widely used computer programming language used in scientific computing. I learned and used FORTRAN programming language in my MSC study in Physics for numerically solving atomic and molecular calculations. I also used FORTRAN for dealing with matrices to solve for eigenvalues, to find inverse of a matrix, etc... I also use FORTRAN in my PhD study. I have about 10 years of teaching experience in vocational school and college. I graduated with MSc in Physics in May 2011 and am now enrolled for a PhD program in Computational Science program in George Mason. [more]

As part of my engineering studies, it was required that I take Fortran programming. I had studied Fortran IV, and have updated myself to the new Fortran VII. There are not too many changes. I can help you construct, test, debug, and run your programs. The process can be tedious; however, with a little time & patience, you can be successful. I also do C, C++, Java, MatLab, & Excel programming. ?Master Tutor? of Both High School & College Mathematics & Sciences Courses. -I work mornings, afternoons, or evenings. A background check is on file with Wyzant if you needed. -I travel around m [more]

I have worked extensively with FORTRAN codes in my career. I have designed and coded electromagnetics applications software in FORTRAN. I have written numerous stand-alone FORTRAN utilities, and FORTRAN components of large multi-language codes. I have a PhD in particle physics from the University of Maryland at College Park and many years' experience in industry. I have taught recitation sections in physics at UMCP and college algebra at University of Maryland University College. I won an Outstanding Teaching award at UMCP. I have also provided a lot of assistance to my 13 year-old son in [more]

I have over fifty years of programming experience in Fortran, Fortran 77 and Fortran 90. I learned Fortran as an undergraduate at MIT, and have used it there, as a graduate student at Cornell University, and as a scientist and Senior Programer at MIT, at New York University, at the NASA/Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. I have over 1450 hours tutoring experience with over 90 students, including many in various levels of Fortran and in other areas of Computer Science. [more]

I learned FORTRAN 64 back in 1968 using punched cards on an IBM 360 environment. During that summer, I designed a payroll processing application that did process the pay and paychecks for a company that had approx. 350 employees. I heard that the system was used until 1974 when new technology was used. I never used FORTRAN since then. It is a language that is mainly used in engineering oriented systems and in the simulation of environmental effects such as wind patterns in buildings that have unusual architectural shapes (example is the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Quebec). I have never [more]

I have a solid 20+ years of programming experience in Fortran, Algorithms, Numerical Analysis. I am very Fluent in FORTRAN. I am an engineer by background. I hold an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University, NJ. I enjoy working with students (elementary, middle, and high school) and have helped a number of students become proficient and independent in many different subjects. The best part about tutoring for me is working with students one-on-one and knowing that I played a part in their academic success. I stress fundamentals and go the extra length to make sure that st [more]

FORTRAN was one of first languages (along with GW Basis). In recent years, I had to use FORTRAN again because of the number of Scientific computing library that use. I am more comfortable with more "modern" dialects of FORTRAN (FORTRAN 77) that support variable scope and functions etc. American culture has a hang-up about math. Many believe success in mathematics centers on talent, but in fact (and there is research to show this) motivation and effort are really the keys to success. Learning math is akin to learning a language and essentially everybody learns at least one language fluently. I [more]
