Worked to develop theory for physical models of various complex defense-related electromagnetic problems. Translated physics into FORTRAN code appropriate to both PC 's and mainframe parallel processors. Participated in collaborative improvement and debugging efforts as part of the code development. I am semi-retired (but good-natured!); my life experience includes travel and living abroad. I want to continue facing intellectual challenges and help students expand their horizons with clear and understandable explanations. Although my experience is mostly in the R&D industry (both practical a [more]

In 1969, when I worked as a TA in CHing-Hwa University's graduate school of Physics, I used FORTRAN to complete a lot of analysis/comparison/reports, and also converted a very large ARGO program taken from a European company to FORTRAN IV. I have MS degree in Computer Sciences from Central Michigan University, Michigan, and I have 15 years experience in all phases of MS access Application design. During my master study I was a TA for high level computer language at Michigan University. I also have experience designing complete application systems at HP, Standford University, Kaiser Permanente [more]

I'm a highly qualified Fortran programmer. It was the first programming language I learned in graduate school. Subsequently I used Fortran in a number of projects including space flight simulations, antibalistic missle defense design, orbital decay calculations, business simulations and multi-stage rocket optimization using the method of steepest descent which became the basis for a published paper. I Taught Chemistry at Monte Vista Christian School. I have MAT (Masters of Arts in Teaching) from WGU (Western Governors University). I am certified by the State of California to teach Science for [more]

I received a BS degree in Computer Science at San Francisco State University. All basic programming course work used Fortran as the language. Further, my first 8 years employed as a computer programmer I used Fortran as the primary programming language. The programs I wrote involved actuary science theories and pension plan maintenance. Mathematical concepts have always come easy to me. It is a talent I was born with and enjoyed every subject from arithmetic, to geometry and trig, algebra and calculus, linear algebra and real analysis. It was an easy transition to computer science. My career t [more]

I used Fortran for many years in high performance computing for climate research models and non linear finite element systems. I hold a M.S. in Mathematics and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics. Over time I have been working at colleges and universities in Germany, in France, and in the U.S. In addition I worked for a decade at research labs in Germany and in the U.S. (LBNL) and at a risk modeling company. Since 2010 I dedicate my professional attention full time to teaching mainly math and computer science as a tutor and lecturer. I currently teach at c [more]

I have extensive experience in Fortran based on my physics research years, both on mainframe and personal computers. I also have a degree in computer science. I'm enthusiastic about tutoring -- I've been teaching and tutoring, as time permitted, starting when I was a graduate student. My BA is in Maths and Computer Science, my PhD is in Physics, I did postdoctoral work in Biophysics, I was on the Physiology faculty at a university in Canada, and now I work in the Biotech field here in the Bay Area. My approach when tutoring is to find a way to bring the student to that "aha" moment when thin [more]

I have written more than ten thousands lines code by FORTRAN for my thesis project to take my master in aerospace engineering. I have a strong interest in tutoring math. With years experience working with high school and lower level students, I am confident in becoming a math assistant grader and tutor for students in all levels of mathematics up to Calculus. I have worked at CSU Stanislaus, Waterford High school, Orville Wright Elementary school, Crowell Elementary School and Jose Valdes Math institute for more than three years and truly understand what students require to learn mathematics [more]

I have over 6 years of experience developing software in FORTRAN for various scientific and management projects. I developed an assembly language dynamic interface to enable COBOL programs to invoke FORTRAN math routines. I understand FORTRAN syntax and its indexing issues, as well as how FORTRAN is compiled into machine code. I am a former teacher, mathematician, scientist, systems analyst/engineer, software engineer/developer, and program manager. I have a BS Mathematics (including coursework in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and an MS Numerical Methods & Simulation Techniques. In ad [more]

I've been a programmer in Fortran for about 10 years. I am self taught in this language. I feel having to learn it on my own gives me an excellent insight into the subject. I have tutored students privately off and on for over 20 years. I have also worked as an instructor in grad school and am very good at developing a rapport with my students. In addition, I am very patient and always ask about how they are progressing. I try to help elucidate relevance a material with concrete examples where possible.... [more]
