I used Fortran for many years in high performance computing for climate research models and non linear finite element systems. I hold a M.S. in Mathematics and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics. Over time I have been working at colleges and universities in Germany, in France, and in the U.S. In addition I worked for a decade at research labs in Germany and in the U.S. (LBNL) and at a risk modeling company. Since 2010 I dedicate my professional attention full time to teaching mainly math and computer science as a tutor and lecturer. I currently teach at c [more]

Worked to develop theory for physical models of various complex defense-related electromagnetic problems. Translated physics into FORTRAN code appropriate to both PC 's and mainframe parallel processors. Participated in collaborative improvement and debugging efforts as part of the code development. I am semi-retired (but good-natured!); my life experience includes travel and living abroad. I want to continue facing intellectual challenges and help students expand their horizons with clear and understandable explanations. Although my experience is mostly in the R&D industry (both practical a [more]

I have extensive experience in Fortran based on my physics research years, both on mainframe and personal computers. I also have a degree in computer science. I'm enthusiastic about tutoring -- I've been teaching and tutoring, as time permitted, starting when I was a graduate student. My BA is in Maths and Computer Science, my PhD is in Physics, I did postdoctoral work in Biophysics, I was on the Physiology faculty at a university in Canada, and now I work in the Biotech field here in the Bay Area. My approach when tutoring is to find a way to bring the student to that "aha" moment when thin [more]

I have been programming with Fortran since 2008 (six years) and I have done from simple to complex programming using Python. The expertise in Fortran allowed me to setup several programming workshop at my workplace with the 10 - 20 attendance. The outcome of these classes were very positive. I am sure it will be also a successful experience for tutoring classes. I went to UC Riverside for my PhD in mechanical engineering, my daytime job is at California Environmental Protection Agency as a research scientist and engineer. During high school I was part of International Physics Olympiad competit [more]

I received a BS degree in Computer Science at San Francisco State University. All basic programming course work used Fortran as the language. Further, my first 8 years employed as a computer programmer I used Fortran as the primary programming language. The programs I wrote involved actuary science theories and pension plan maintenance. Mathematical concepts have always come easy to me. It is a talent I was born with and enjoyed every subject from arithmetic, to geometry and trig, algebra and calculus, linear algebra and real analysis. It was an easy transition to computer science. My career t [more]

I learned Fortran while I was a research intern at NASA. I wrote an original subroutine which calculates the opacity caused by gas and vapor in the protoplanetary disk, billions of years before the Earth was formed. Fortran is very intuitive. With a little help managing resources, syntax and problem solving, any student can confidently program in FORTRAN. I hope to provide that help to those interested! I am a math and science teacher and tutor. I have tutored hundreds of students in Algebra to Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra and in Statistics, Physics and As [more]

I have written more than ten thousands lines code by FORTRAN for my thesis project to take my master in aerospace engineering. I have a strong interest in tutoring math. With years experience working with high school and lower level students, I am confident in becoming a math assistant grader and tutor for students in all levels of mathematics up to Calculus. I have worked at CSU Stanislaus, Waterford High school, Orville Wright Elementary school, Crowell Elementary School and Jose Valdes Math institute for more than three years and truly understand what students require to learn mathematics [more]
