I learned to program in high school and learned Fortran. Through the years as newer versions of Fortran have been developed, I have updated my knowledge. I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science. As part of that degree, I studied a variety of computer languages to include C and C++. I can use a manual or book to refresh my skills and teach any programming language I taught AP Computer Science at a local high school. As a UNIX System Administrator, I was frequently called upon to write scripts to automate systems tasks in various shell languages. [more]

I programmed in ForTran in College. It's my most basic computer language. ForTran is a programming language no longer commonly used, but it is the basis of many computer languages. I have used it on a very limited basis, but I believe if you learn Fortran and program it successfully you can program in many of the other programming languages. Fortran has many more restrictions in its basic program than any other programming language I know. It has helped me to proofread coding programs from Visual Basic, HTML, SQL, Python, JavaScript, etc. Although not used, it is a great language to teach and [more]

I consider myself to be a highly skilled FORTRAN programmer who is extensively experienced in scientific computing related to two- and three-dimensional structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, and granular flow problems. (I have in-depth knowledge of various computational methods including the finite element, finite difference, and differential quadrature methods, and general methods of numerical analysis.) I learned FORTRAN programming in 1972 for the computational work of my MS thesis (FORTRAN was the most prevalent programing language at that time). I have experienced writing codes in all t [more]

I have been working in the financial industry for 15 years and my primary programming language is Fortran. I've been working with WordPress since 2004. I've created plugins and themes and have helped answer user questions in the WP support forum. I've also taught classes on the various Microsoft Office applications in several local community adult classes. I've helped build websites for The Special Olympics of Delaware County, Patch Adams Free Clinic in Philadelphia, Pacem in Terris, Haverford Music Festival, Music for Life, Timebank Media and New Avenue Foundation. I help manage The Arc of [more]

I've learned Fortran77 in 1997 when I started college. I used it to program engineering codes for my senior project. Then during MS I used a computational fluid dynamics code written in Fortran and learned about high performance Fortran. I also wrote my own PhD thesis code in Fortran 90. I've taught Statics, C++ and Fortran, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer at various universities. Can help in computer modeling, programming, general engineering courses, math and physics. I am also a Professional Engineer. I've done tutoring when I was a graduate student myself and understand that the class tim [more]

I have undergraduate degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science. For the last 14 years, I have been teaching Computer Science and my title is Associate Professor of Computer Science. Prior to teaching, I worked in the DoD arena and the commercial world developing Computer Systems. During my DoD work, I programmed in many different flavors of Fortran. I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at UWMC in Wausau, WI. I have undergraduate degrees in CS and Math from UWEC, and have taken courses in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. I have an Masters in Informa [more]

FORTRAN stands for FORTRAN TRANSLATION. It was one of the first programming languages. It dealt with implementing mathematical equations. One of the key features is that it recognized a FLOATING POINT variable. A typical addition operation might be A = B + C It is used in order of operations to evaluate mathematical expressions. It was not very good at text formatting. Hi Everybody, My name is Eli, and I may be the ideal tutor for you! I recently received my Ph.D. from Capella University. I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Mathematics. I tutor students in Math (pre-Algebra, Alg [more]

I have experience with several versions of FORTRAN including, FORTRAN77, FORTRAN95, and Compaq Visual Fortran. My undergraduate and graduate theses included creation of several programs for post processing of data and additional analysis. These programs included I/O portions to enable multiple uses. LET ME BE YOUR ACADEMICS PERSONAL TRAINER! OVER 20 YEARS OF PRIVATE TUTORING EXPERIENCE! YOUR ONE STOP SHOP WITH EXPERIENCE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SUBJECTS! I completed my PhD in nuclear engineering at Penn State. I have successfully instructed physics and several engineering courses at Penn [more]

I am very experienced in developing codes using Fortran. I developed multiple codes/subroutines using Fortran. This includes reading/writing input/output files, as well as, heavy mathematical operations, numerical integrations, numerical differentiations, solving ordinary/partial differential equations, and similar routines. My Master of Science thesis code was also done by Fortran. Thanks! Master's of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech with a 4.0 major GPA. A very strong background in Mathematics and broad-based experience in the different analytical/numerical approaches, meth [more]

In a previous life, I worked for NASA, using a simulation program called EASY5 that was FORTRAN-based. Students working with me in FORTRAN should expect competence in the following areas: - input and output statements (and formatting of the same) - simple calculations - looping - logical statements (e.g. IF) - subroutines and functions A typical introductory class in FORTRAN would concentrate on those areas. Though there aren't very many of those classes offered any more. Most FORTRAN work is on legacy systems, and may involve conversion to C or something else. [more]
