My absolute favorite part of the GED to tutor is math. Great progress can be made with steady work and multiple tutoring sessions. Math difficulties stem from big holes in knowledge and missing tools. My strength is to provide those exact things. Tutoring while guiding the student is my purpose. I believe that all students can learn and become high achievers if they are given the appropriate tools and strategies. I have an MBA from Ohio State University, a BA in Economics and a BBA in Management (from St. Mary's at Notre Dame). I have a minor in humanities. My years in the business world, [more]

I have taught middle school and high school for many years. I have taught all subjects included on the GED. In my last position I taught all subjects to students with a variety of abilities. This was done on an individual basis, one on one, like tutoring. One of my responsibilities was to prepare the students to pass the AIMS test in math, reading, and writing. I am familiar with the format of the GED, both paper and computer styles. I am a youthful retired teacher with over 40 years of successful classroom experience. My educational philosophy is that learning is fun, or should be. My [more]

I have a degree in mathematics. This is my third year of teaching and I have been tutoring a variety of students for the past 15 years. My name is Sara. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in mathematics from ASU. Throughout my life I wanted to be a teacher and my favorite subject was math. While in college, I soon found out that a degree in education does not allow you to take many math courses. So, I changed majors to mathematics in order to take as many math courses as I could. I truly love the subject, but I enjoy teaching the subject more. During college, I [more]

The GED Mathematics Test consists of 50 questions altogether. Approximately 40 of these are standard multiple-choice questions. The other questions are "grid-in", which means that instead of selecting an answer among several choices, you will need to enter a numerical response or mark a point on a coordinate plane on a special grid. I am good at tutoring GED Mathematics Test questions that cover the basic math concepts and skills taught in high school, including operations on numbers; number forms, relationships, and patterns; elementary statistics and probability; algebra and functions; geome [more]
