I have been tutoring in high school geometry for 4 years. I have also taken the courses in college since this is a subject that I would like to teach formally. And I also have a year of substitute experience ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I love to tutor because I have been on the other end and I know what it is like not to understand a concept. Now, I want to give back and continue to help others learn and have them come to love learning as much as I do. I have been tutoring in upper level mathematics for 8 years ranging from elementary concepts to high school senior courses. I also [more]

I took this class in the summer at the end of my sophomore year prior to going into my junior year. The reason why taking this class in the summer is that I wanted to get caught up in my math and take Algebra II my junior year. I also wanted to take physics that same year, and the prerequisite was a passing grade in geometry. I got an A for the first semester, and a B my second. The reason for the B was that I was challenged in doing the proofs and the class was fast paced due to taking it in the summer. I've got better at doing the proofs due to many years of experience in studying physics a [more]

I have a math minor with extensive experience in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability, calculus, and differential equations. I have six years of teaching experience in undergraduate chemistry, including TA experience, one-on-one tutoring, and as an instructor at UNM (2016) and CNM (2016-present). My basic philosophy in teaching is to encourage students to ask questions, especially in the sciences. I enjoy teaching groups of students but feel that I connect even better in one-on-one sessions where instructor/student dialogue is most helpful. In teaching chemistry, which many students f [more]

Geometry is unlike many other Math courses in that it is a spatial/visual class and deals minimally with variables and equations. Geometry students can expect topics such as: proofs using theorems and axioms, calculation of distance, area and volume, congruence and similarity of triangles, transformations (rotations, reflections, translations), and properties of geometric shapes. I can also help with the use of a compass, protractor, and graphing calculators. My name is Melissa and I love helping students achieve success in Mathematics. During my time at Carroll University, I tutored for 3 [more]

I taught at the Valencia branch college of the University of New Mexico for approximately five years. I taught all levels of algebra, Calculus, and discrete math. After retiring, I have tutored in my home - mostl... [more]

I have several years tutoring students in an after school type setting. I have tutored in all subject areas, grades 6--8, and more recently, only in math. My teaching experience includes two years substitute and long-term teaching in Chicago, Memphis, and Mississippi. My full-time teaching experience is four years of social studies teaching in MS, four years at Pecos Independent School District in New Mexico, 6, 7, and 8th grade math (pre-algebra) and science--earth, life, and physical. Geometry is an important field of mathematics. I learned to not just do geometry but to love it when I was a tutor and teacher's assistant during my early college studies. I have tutored students in geometry for more then two years, which has not diminished my enjoyment in this aspect of mathematics in any regard. Hi! I'm James, and I have a love for mathematics. For two years, I was a mathematics tutor at Clackamas Community College. During that time I tutored many different types of students, and helped them become confident in the skills they obtained in pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, [more]
