I got a BS in Mathematics from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1991. After teaching high school for three years in El Paso, Texas, and teaching middle school math in Belen, New Mexico, I returned to New Mexico Tech to obtain my Master's Degree in Mathematics. I taught at the Valencia branch college of the University of New Mexico for approximately five years. I taught all levels of algebra, Calculus, and discrete math. After retiring, I have tutored in my home - mostl... [more]

I have a math minor with extensive experience in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability, calculus, and differential equations. I have six years of teaching experience in undergraduate chemistry, including TA experience, one-on-one tutoring, and as an instructor at UNM (2016) and CNM (2016-present). My basic philosophy in teaching is to encourage students to ask questions, especially in the sciences. I enjoy teaching groups of students but feel that I connect even better in one-on-one sessions where instructor/student dialogue is most helpful. In teaching chemistry, which many students f [more]

I have been an adjunct professor at NM Highlands University and also a substitute teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools. I speak some Spanish and could help Spanish speakers with English. I work well with children. In the past, I wrote training programs for big banks. Also, I wrote training programs for ProLiteracy tutors. I look forward to working with you, or with your children. I have a Ph.D. in Education, and coursework toward a Masters' Degree in mental health counseling. I also ... [more]

Hello, I'm Eric! I graduated New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT) with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2016. I have always had a passion for math and teaching others. While attending NMT, I experienced being taught by a professor who was passionate in the subject he was teaching which made the course enjoyable. I then realized that I could have the same impact on individuals by putting my passion and knowledge into tutoring. While attending NMT, I worked a... [more]

I am a first generation college graduate and have been teaching for about three years now. Most of my tutoring experience comes from working a part time job as an undergraduate while making my way through school. I have helped tutor at public schools in after school programs in all subject areas. If I could not always find answers, I would at least help my students find them. Currently I teach Spanish at a charter school, and have taught English language arts and Geometry in that same school... [more]

I have a Ph.D. in Space Physics, an M.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Astrophysics. My work experience has spanned over thirty years involving numerous areas of Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, and Computer Science. I have held a several positions from Physicist/Engineer/Programmer to Project Manager. Most of my work has involved computational physics/engineering (modeling/simulation/code development) and mathematical analysis. The past two years I have been a substitute math/science/computer ed... [more]

Geometry is unlike many other Math courses in that it is a spatial/visual class and deals minimally with variables and equations. Geometry students can expect topics such as: proofs using theorems and axioms, calculation of distance, area and volume, congruence and similarity of triangles, transformations (rotations, reflections, translations), and properties of geometric shapes. I can also help with the use of a compass, protractor, and graphing calculators. My name is Melissa and I love helping students achieve success in Mathematics. During my time at Carroll University, I tutored for 3 [more]

I took this class in the summer at the end of my sophomore year prior to going into my junior year. The reason why taking this class in the summer is that I wanted to get caught up in my math and take Algebra II my junior year. I also wanted to take physics that same year, and the prerequisite was a passing grade in geometry. I got an A for the first semester, and a B my second. The reason for the B was that I was challenged in doing the proofs and the class was fast paced due to taking it in the summer. I've got better at doing the proofs due to many years of experience in studying physics a [more]

I love geometry! It was always one of my favorite classes in high school. I loved extending my knowledge of high school geometry into trigonometry and calculus classes in college. I have taught geometry to many students over the years and have developed a wide range of tricks and strategies that utilize different approaches so that each student's natural learning talents can be utilized to help them learn geometry concepts. Even though I have a PhD with distinction in educational psychology and mathematical statistics, my students consistently tell me that what they notice the most about me [more]

Do you want to learn the subject or just get it over with? I can help with both. Let exploration and creativity inspire a passion for education. I can make math and science come alive for you. Bring back the joy to education. Tutoring available in the study of all areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). My undergrad degree is in Aero/Astro Engineering with a focus on rocketry and spacecraft. My Air Force career included ICBM launches and nuclear safety. I teach... [more]
