I teach geometry in the classroom to students of all different ability levels (from honors/accelerated to those struggling with basic algebra skills). I have also tutored students in the subject regularly after school. Students have reported increased skills and positive learning outcomes after taking my class in this subject. My tutoring method is inquiry-based and consists of asking the students questions to draw out pre-existing knowledge, then refining the questions to isolate which specific steps in the problem-solving process are causing confusion. I know school can feel stressful. I know many students have lots of commitments, busy schedules, and competing priorities that pull them in many directions. It can be hard to balance it all. My professional background and individualized approach allow me to help students to manage academic demands, develop organizational skills, and to meet challenges with greater ease and effectiveness. I am a full-time academic tutor and Co-Active Life Coach. I bring a depth and breadth of experience to my... [more]

I am a Research Associate Professor at Colorado School of Mines. I have taught physics at CSM for seven years, and these classes include graduate Quantum Mechanics I & II, Nanoscale Physics and undergraduate Modern Physics and Computational Physics. My teaching evaluations have been above the department and school average for six semesters in a row. I have obtained students evaluation of 5.0/5.0 multiple times, and the following is a typical comment from my students: ?Dr. W. does an excel... [more]

Hello! My name is Anna and I recently received my bachelors in Integrated Educational Studies and minors in Mathematics and Psychology. I am in the process of getting my credentials to become a math teacher. I have over six years of tutoring experience and absolutely love what I do. I am a firm believer in finding out what method is best for each student. Every student is different and learns best when presented with material in a way they can easily understand. I like to incorporate creat... [more]

For the past 17 years, with great success and satisfaction, I taught all subjects to high school students at a small, non-traditional private school in Denver. I teach Math including Algebra, Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus; All science except advanced Physics; any history, and test preparation for college entrance exams or GED, includi... [more]

While geometry is easy and fun, it can be difficult to learn from people with certain styles of teaching. Whether you are learning elementary or college-level geometry, I try to adapt my explanations to you and your own particular learning style, so that you really "get it". I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, and I am an active volunteer in my son's advanced math class. I have worked as a tutor for children of all ages and abilities, as well as adults, both one-on-one and in groups. My goal as a tutor is not just to help you with rote learning, but to help you understand the unde [more]

I have taught Geometry at a local High School, which has helped me to understand student's challenges with the subject. Finally putting my job aside to pursue my passion, I left engineering and completed both a Math degree (Dean's list) and a secondary math teaching license in 2013. I tutored my way through school and students, at a minimum, raised one letter grade. Most importantly they gained an appreciation of learning how to think, as I guide them through a process of understanding. Having taught in various middle and high school classrooms for the last four years, I understand what a t [more]

I am a senior in high school. Math and writing are my strong suites. This year, I'm working as an aide in a geometry classroom. I've also had a lot of experience with both SAT and ACT subjects. This includes all the sections that ACT and SAT cover. As well as working on content, I can help with test taking strategies in order to place highly on either of these tests. I know which questions are likely to come up a lot, which skills you should brush up on, and which you don't need to worry abou... [more]

My educational background is a thorough mix of chemistry, physics, and mathematics. As an undergraduate I had opportunities to tutor and TA chemistry and physics courses as a chem/physics double major, pursue independent studies in applied mathematics, and do original research in spectroscopy that was eventually published. In graduate school, I taught chemistry and physics lectures and labs, had regular office hours for one-on-one and group problem solving and tutoring, and ran the tutoring... [more]

Hello! My name is Ryan, and I'm a senior at CU Boulder studying Applied Mathematics and Environmental Studies. From middle school through high school I had an amazing tutor who became a lifelong friend, so I understand the dynamic between a student and their teacher. My foundation on the fundamental principles of mathematics is rock solid, and my goal is to help my students/clients foster a passion for mathematics like I have. I'm an easy-going guy looking to ease the cost of my tuition and... [more]
