While working for The Tutoring Club of Hilliard, I tutored fourteen students in geometry. In high school, I was a peer tutor for three geometry students. The vast majority of my geometry students have been 15 years old. Since moving down to Florida, I've added another three geometry students to my list. Although I've tutored more students in algebra than geometry, I like tutoring students in geometry much more than in algebra one or two. I don't get to tutor geometry as often as algebra, and I truly enjoy tutoring for this subject. Geometry has more real world applications than any other sec [more]

In addition to doing well in this subject in school myself, I also co-taught Geometry at the High School level. I have great resources and visual aides to help clarify this often difficult subject and approach it from all angles! ;-) Please let me assist you. As lover of learning, I enjoy working with individual students to help them build skills and strategies to make them successful. My many years of experience teaching Special Education at various grade levels, taught me helpful techniques to engage students in their own learning process and overcome difficulties to find success. I teach all the required subjects within the Common Core State Standards. They have Geometry broken down into a few categories, and I am comfortable with all of them. As the oldest of four, I have taught since a very early age. I officially started tutoring in high school through the Math Club, and have tutored at the HCC campuses of Southshore, Brandon, and Plant City. I have also tutored for USF and Knowledge Points. I have been a teacher now for 4 years working at Middleton High School. I have taught primarily mathematics, but I have taught other things as well. English, Science, Social Stu [more]

I am currently a Licensed Medical Lab Scientist with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida. I taught Chemistry to grades 10-12 students for 3 years with the School District of Hillsborough County. I pride myself of being the youngest teacher in the Science Department at that time with competitive achievement records compared to my fellow veteran counterparts. Every year, 90% of my students passed their rigorous Chemistry finals with a C or be... [more]

I began college as a tuba/jazz performance major and at some point realized that music was not the path for me. While taking my general education requirements, I came to find that I enjoy the thrill of math and science. I still work as a musician but appreciate music more because of my math skills. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of South Florida studying physics and mathematics. I am also employed by a college as a math and science tutor. Before I was hired as a coll... I recently relocated from the northeast to Wesley Chapel, FL in order to be closer to family and be as far away from those cold snowy winters as possible. For the better part of 10 years I played professional poker, which requires a high level of intelligence, keen observation and adaptability, and a strong foundation in mathematics. On top of that, I started a private SAT prep business with a former English Professor in Philadelphia in 2004. He took care of the English, I took care of t... [more]

Geometry introduces geometric reasoning (the study of shapes) as a method for problem solving. If the student wants to cover specific subjects, I will work on those subjects. I always go through algebra basics in a short review because these basics are still used in geometry. If the student is "home schooled", I teach geometry in 10 two hour lessons. I physically (through pen and paper, as well as online) show the properties of geometric figures such as triangles, quadrilaterals, and other polygons. I show and help the student practice using mathematical language to express important g [more]

I am proficient in geometry and other math skills due to my training in Engineering. I currently tutor math and science at the local community college and am actively involved with students in these subjects. Some basic skills covered in geometry include: lines, angles, and two and three dimensional shapes. theorems, and side and area calculations. The passion I have for learning and working with others is the reason I tutor. This is my way of giving something back and helping others to succeed. A little about me. Learning has always been a joy in my life. I enjoy learning and the ed [more]
