I have been tutoring geometry for over ten years. I am very familiar with the Common Core / NYS Regents geometry curriculum. I have students of all ages and skill levels in geometry. My name is Abbey and I'd love to be your tutor. I have been tutoring for over five years. I am a former MIT student and I graduated from UAlbany with a BS in Mathematics and Statistics and a minor in Economics. I have a lot of experience tutoring. I recently moved to Buffalo from Albany. While I was in Albany, I worked with three private local tutoring companies. In addition to those, as you can see, I am a [more]

Geometry is the subject that I have had the most experience tutoring and I love teaching it. I have had three students over the past two years, all of whom have passed the regents (one just this past June). Geometry stands alone in many ways but is also very interrelated with algebra which I also have an excellent knowledge of. Although I was a meteorologist for 40 years I always loved math more than anything and always wanted to teach students who found math a challenge or difficult. I have had almost 5 years of experience tutoring math including algebra, geometry, trig, SAT Math and GED [more]

I have been developing software for over 30 years. I started as a 14 year old with BASIC on a Commodore 64, moving on to assembly language and writing complex 8-bit algorithms while still a teenager. In college, I studied Computer Engineering with a focus on software, and received my Master's degree in 1993. During my college career, I learned fundamentals of computer hardware and software design, as well as electrical engineering concepts, probability and statistics, queuing theory, computer... [more]

I truly enjoy seeing those I teach "get it" and have that "ah ha" moment. A structural engineer by trade, I have to continually learn new things each and every day. It's my job! Math is my specialty of course, but I don't fit the mold as a typical engineer as I enjoy interacting with people too. Tutoring experience? Well...besides the hours on wyzant tutoring mostly algebra and trigonometry I have previously volunteered to teach at engineering outreach events at the Buffalo Museum of Sci... [more]

I have a NYS teaching certification in Secondary Math. I love to teach and want to help you reach your goals! With a decade of experience in teaching full time and several years of real work software engineering experience, I can help you learn math and technical concepts in a fun and meaningful way. I have 6 years experience working in in software development with reputable companies. I also have a degree in Computer Engineering. Finally, I've taught software engineering concepts in classes for a local district. I have my secondary teaching... [more]

Most high school geometry classes focus mainly on using mathematical reasoning and logic in order to determine the answers, rather than simple memorization. As a mathematics major, I've honed these skills, and the communication of these concepts, throughout my entire time in college. Not only that, but geometry is also a very important part of calculus, which I have tutored many students in over three years. I've tutored and taught mathematics and physics in a lot of different contexts. Right now, I'm working as a mathematics teaching assistant at the University of Buffalo, but I've also worke [more]

I am an advanced graduate student at SUNY Buffalo working on my PhD in Anthropology. I specialize in archaeology, specifically in Roman period Romania. I have taught several courses at SUNY Buffalo, as well as running a field school for the past 5 years. Prior to making the switch to archaeology, I studied astrophysics at the University of Michigan, so I have a deep and rich background in math and science. I have been an editor for a graduate journal for the past 4 years, and am the curr... [more]
