I have been tutoring geometry for over ten years. I am very familiar with the Common Core / NYS Regents geometry curriculum. I have students of all ages and skill levels in geometry. My name is Abbey and I'd love to be your tutor. I have been tutoring for over ten years. Geometry is the subject that I have had the most experience tutoring and I love teaching it. I have had three students over the past two years, all of whom have passed the regents (one just this past June). Geometry stands alone in many ways but is also very interrelated with algebra which I also have an excellent knowledge of. Although I was a meteorologist for 40 years I always loved math more than anything and always wanted to teach students who found math a challenge or difficult. I have had almost 8 years of experience tutoring math including algebra, geometry, trig, SAT Math and GED [more]

I truly enjoy seeing those I teach "get it" and have that "ah ha" moment. A structural engineer by trade, I have to continually learn new things each and every day. It's my job! Math is my specialty of course, but I don't fit the mold as a typical engineer as I enjoy interacting with people too. Tutoring experience? Well...besides the hours on wyzant tutoring mostly algebra and trigonometry I have previously volunteered to teach at engineering outreach events at the Buffalo Museum of Sci... [more]

When in 7th grade, I applied for and gained admission to the Gifted Math Program, in which we drove to the University of Buffalo and took college level math courses (6 credits a semester) for 6 years. Through this course, I learned and tested out of Geometry I and II on the NY Regents exams with a score of 99 and 98. I have also taken 6 credits of advanced geometry through the GMP classes in 8th grade. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Virginia's Biomedical Engineering program. From an early age I learned that I loved to tutor: helping others always made me feel incredible, and always [more]

I am most capable of tutoring in geometry. Students seem to have the most difficulty in math as compared to other subjects. When working with student,s I try to reduce their anxiety towards math and show the logic behind math. To make it easier for the student I break down key concepts into smaller parts. I develop flashcards with the student to help them quickly review the material in an easy to access manner. My rates are flexible and I am available on the weekends. I have been involved in scientific research for 20+ years both in academia and industry. I have a PhD in Pharmacology and [more]

I graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology and in order to graduate with that degree you need to pass differential equations, calculus trigonometry and you have to know angles and geometry before that. Hello, My name is John and I just recently graduated SUNY Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology. My tutoring experience is little to none. However, I have helped out my fellow classmates in achieving good results on their calculus 1 tests and I have an excellent grasp on mathematics up to that point. I feel like your sons or d [more]

I was previously a full time high school geometry teacher in NYC. I taught Regents-based geometry classes and non-Regents based geometry classes.
