Traditional high school geometry expands on spatial recognition concepts discussed in previous grade levels. The Common Core math curriculum spreads out high school geometry among Math 1, 2 and 3 courses. Math 1 links algebraic formulas for midpoint, distance and slope of a line with the coordinate plane.
