Geometry is a very different subject from the majority of mathematics (pre-algebra through differential equations/numerical methods) and can often make even the brightest math students stumble. I understand because I also had difficulty when I first took this course, and math had always come naturally to me. If this sounds familiar to you, let me tutor you/your child in Geometry - I know where they are coming from and I know how to get them to understand all the different theorems and how to write a proof. It's still math. Let's do it. [more]

I've always had a passion for math. I've been tutoring the kids older than me throughout school. I finished Calculus I and II in high school. As a Naval Officer and Nuclear Engineer, I've had the opportunity to apply math throughout my career. Helping students be more comfortable with mathematical concepts is my goal. I completed Calculus I and II in High School. For one of my Senior classes, I taught Algebra to the Freshmen. I went to College in University of San Diego where I graduated w... [more]

I have been working with students/education for nearly 10 years and have enjoyed every minute of it! I thoroughly enjoy working with students to help them with a variety of topics and subjects to help build their confidence! I have loved school my entire life, and if given the chance, I would be a perpetual student! I would love to study everything out there just for the pure joy and interest of learning! As a tutor, I will work diligently to prepare all students for exams, help with revie... [more]

Greetings! I have been an educator since 1987. A friend asked me to help a young girl who was struggling with feeling intimidated by her male tutor in ESL. I discovered then a passion for teaching and have been doing so in a variety of positions both formal and informal since then. I push my students to learn the specific information they ask of me. Perhaps more importantly though, it is my hope that they will find a passion for learning and gain skill sets that they can use in all their end... [more]

Topics I can help with include, but are not limited to: lines, angle postulates, triangles including the special right triangle ratios, quadralaterals, circles, polygons, postulates, and theorems. I've taught college level Chemistry and Organic Chemistry at the Community Colleges since 1998. My expertise is in developing entire courses and designing labs for both Organic and General Chemistry. My tutoring experience started back in 1994 teaching both SAT and GRE study techniques. Because I understand how all disciplines are truly integrated I can teach all High School and College level science [more]

After competing in national math tournaments in high school and taking BC Calculus in the 10th grade, I enrolled at Harvard College where I graduated in four years with both bachelor's and master's degrees in Applied Math with a focus in economics. I subsequently studied at Georgia Tech's business school where I received a master's degree in strategic management. I currently work in San Diego as a financial analyst. My focus when tutoring is on helping students learn by doing, not by ... [more]

Although I do not have extensive experience in teaching, I am passionate about learning and helping others. I often find myself helping others with their homework, lab work, and studying for exams. My first time formally tutoring was at the Math Jam at San Diego City College this past year. I really enjoyed the opportunity to help others excel in their studies and teach problem solving strategies. I am very knowledgeable in general chemistry, physics one (also known as mechanical physics), ca... [more]

I graduated from UCSD last June with a BA in Literature and Writing and a minor in Spanish Literature. I have tutored students in all areas of both the SAT and ACT for a little over two years, as well as all levels of Spanish. Test prep is no fun for students, and I strive to make it at least not a horrible experience. (I do assign homework, however.) I also remember what it is like to learn Spanish as a non-native speaker, and have a lot of strategies to make my students' work less tedious a... [more]

My experience in Geometry includes the following topics:Foundations of Geometry (Lines, segment, angle measure, axiomatic structures), Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Hypothesis & Congruence (SAS, ASA, SSS), Exterior Angle Inequality, Euclidean Geometry (Similar triangles and Trigonometry, Regular Polygons, Circle Theorems, Non-Euclidean Geometries (Hyberbolic & Elliptic Geometry). I have a very strong math background through my Electrical Engineering major in college. I taught math students of various levels for approximately 15 years. My work experience ranges from teaching close to on [more]

As a lifelong learner, I am very driven to help others achieve their goals in the classroom. I've been a high school and college math tutor for 8 years, and worked for UCLA to teach upper division linear algebra. I do not aim to simply get my students to pass, but truly help them understand the material so they are not simply regurgitating information. I specialize in tutoring Pre-Calculus, Calculus I/II/III, any lower division math/stats course (linear algebra, discrete, diff eq's, etc.), ... [more]
