I have more than 30 years of teaching and educational experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. I have an undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science with masters degrees in educational technology and administration and a doctorate in curriculum and teaching. I have taught a multitude of mathematics and computer classes as well as general science, physical education and teacher education classes, while also coaching a variety of sports. Assisting people in pr... [more]

Geometry was my favorite math class in high school and also the math I've taught the most. With so many theorems and postulates to keep track of, people often have trouble with this class. While some memorization is required, I do my best to make the concepts relatable and, for interested students, trace them back to their roots. It seems like teaching has always been a part of my life, whether I was helping classmates with assignments at school, practicing my campers' Bar Mitzvah prep with them at camp, or formally tutoring. Education is a high priority for me, and I enjoy helping those who a [more]

Hi, I hold a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, so I have to know quite a bit of math and science for me to do well in my current job! I tutor on the side to keep up with my skills and to fulfill my passion for teaching. I am extremely passionate about math and science (especially chemistry in science, but I enjoy biology as well), and although I am not studying it, I am quite good at and love history, writing, and reading. I especially adore English grammar - in fact, I proofread sc... [more]

Hello! A little info about me... I love to teach! It's as simple (and challenging) as that. As a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program at Northern Kentucky University, and a published co-author of a journal entry to The Journal of Ethnomathematics, I love all levels of math! I truly love to share that love through teaching and my specialty is tutoring algebra through college level calculus. Oooh, I just love to teach trig and calculus! I also love to help peop... [more]

I haven't taught geometry in a regular classroom, but have taught some in small groups or one-on-one. Have also taught pre-geometry throughout the K-8 grades, since geometry deals with shapes and working with those shapes that include perimeter, area, angles, etc. Childhood is a journey, not a race. With that said, I am anxious to tutor, especially math, and if somewhere along this journey one or more steps have been missed, then we will work together to catch up. That's where I can help! I've taught in the classroom for ten years, have tutored for the last 13+ years, and in-between worke [more]

After spending 30 years in the Chemical Industry in various jobs from research synthesis, engineering scale up, analytical testing (both chemical and physical) and quality assurance (statistical quality control), I became a High School Teacher. I spent 11 years teaching Science, Chemistry and AP Chemistry. My BS degree is in Chemistry and I have a minor in Geology. My skill set includes teaching study skills - the Cornell note taking system is designed to move information from short term me... [more]

I received my MS degree in Mathematics in 1976, Ph.D. and D. Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engng. I am the author of one book and 150 papers in micromechanics of random heterogeneous media. I am very happy to teach basic courses in Mathematics (undergrad courses, such as basic Math, introductory statistics, College Algebra, Pre-calculus, and Calculus I & II.). My teaching goal is to prepare students to become responsible, self-motivated and independent individuals able to solve actual problem... [more]

From middle school to high school, I attended an all-honors school for the gifted, graduating valedictorian with a 4.32 GPA. Over the course of this time, I tutored in math, both inside and outside school. While applying to colleges, I scored a 32 on the ACT, and a 2100 (700, 700, 700) on the SAT. I attended Skidmore College, a top-50 "New Ivy" school, where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Government and Economics in 2011. I have since been employed as a Market Analyst, and hav... I have two degrees in biology (with an emphasis in molecular and microbiology, and a minor in chemistry) and have taught science at the high school and college levels for the past six years. Prior to teaching high school, I taught middle school math and science for two years. Part of the time I was teaching middle school I worked as a private tutor for two homeschooling families and taught the humanities (including Latin!) as well as my trademark subjects. Over my eight years of teaching... [more]
