As a non-mathematically inclined individual, my mathematical accomplishments can be likened to successfully running a marathon in an ill-fitting pair of ice skates on scorching asphalt. Because of my personal history with math, I can relate to the feelings of imbalance, confusion, awkwardness, insecurity, and frustration that other mathematically challenged individuals experience. I can envision the stumbling blocks they will likely encounter and can illuminate the path before anyone lands fa... [more]

Geometry can be confusing without the right approach and knowing what rules are the most important of the 200+ postulates, theorems, and laws presented to students. I help reduce complexity and reinforce the key understanding. Many "rules" are actually duplicates of things students already know just they are now given a more formal and specific name. Connecting prior understanding with current topics makes the entire class more accessible and useful. My personal business philosophy is to help students not just to find the right answers but help to develop problem solving skills and the abil [more]
