Geometry is perhaps the key subject to truly understanding (and not simply route learning) mathematics that opens the door to algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and beyond. I have taught high school and college students in geometry, algebra I, and algebra II with this approach in mind and have helped them improve their class scores (some by as many as 20 points in a short couple of months!) and methods for test preparation (such as for the End of Course test). My passion for mathematics and abstract critical thinking, I believe, make my instruction as practical and even enjoyable for students as [more]

Hello! My name is Christine, and I have been teaching since 2004. I have a B.S. in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley and a M.S. in mathematics from California State University. I currently teach at the University level and have taught everything from basic math and algebra all the way up to calculus. I started my college career at a community college. The first class I ever taught was Intro to Statistics and it is the class I have taught more than any other course. I have also taught... [more]

My Name is Tom O. and I am a 2006 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I was a mechanical engineer with Caterpillar for three years and I tutored at Wright College (one of the City Colleges of Chicago) for over five years. I tutor different levels of mathematics from intermediate algebra to third year calculus (including differential equations and linear algebra). I also tutor different levels of Physics (both calculus and non-calculus based), general inorganic chemistr... [more]

I can understand why a lot of students these days fall behind or lose interest in math. Subjects like Algebra and Trigonometry are taught in such a way that if you fall behind just a little bit, it can seem almost impossible to catch up. And once that happens, a student?s enthusiasm and self confidence can go downhill fast. Today?s math teachers are under a lot of pressure to keep their classes moving forward as a group, and so there?s not much help for any individual student who starts to f... [more]

I have over ten years experience teaching and tutoring. I taught algebra and geometry at a Denver Public School and developed a competency-based model of instruction. In addition to private tutoring, I currently tutor at Red Rocks Community College. I have been teaching and tutoring for over ten years. I taught both high school math (algebra and geometry) and elementary for six years in Denver Public Schools. Prior to this, I tutored at both Red Rocks Community College and the University of Colorado at Boulder while completing my undergraduate in engineering at the University of Colorado. In [more]

I am a full-time academic tutor and Co-Active Life Coach. I currently work with students of all ages and off... [more]

I tutored Geometry for over 5 years. I understand the relationship between algebra and geometry well, so if you have trouble keeping the shapes in your head I can give you a more number heavy approach and vice versa. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Mathematics, and I?m currently starting as a Software Engineer. While at UGA, I tutored several students in Math and Math based classes, and they get A?s and B?s in all of them. In my experience the key to understanding Math and Math based subjects is to understand how they relate to reality. This usually simplifies them, a [more]

I tutor for the satisfaction of helping students succeed, not to supplement my retirement income. I obtained a bachelors degree at Creighton University majoring in mathematics. My basic calculus coursework included analytic geometry, which I applied often in my profession. I taught geometry as a substitute teacher and recently instructed geometry at a math learning center. I am retired from a successful mathematical analysis business with ample income. So I began tutoring three years ago for the satisfaction of helping students acquire tools they may need for their own successful careers. I ha [more]
