Geometry was the first course I took while in high school and I still have a love for the subject. I did not have the opportunity to further this subject with Trigonometry. I received high marks from my teacher and assisted other students with the subject, though not as a tutor. I recently graduated from the University of Iowa as a graduate student with a Master's Degree in Chemistry. I worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant. In addition, I had multiple students as a tutor while as a graduate student. Also note, I was a mathematics and spanish minor as a Chemistry Under [more]

I've taught a variety of math and statistics classes at Drake, DMACC and other colleges. There's no substitute for hard work, but sometimes additional instruction in a private setting can make all the difference! I provide helpful math tutoring for West Des Moines and vicinity and prefer to meet at the WDM library, although other locations are possible. Topics I have tutored include: High School A.P. Statistics or College Statistics (a.k.a. "Business Analytics" in MBA programs) Algebra & P... [more]

I am in many ways, a stereotypical liberal arts graduate - I have a lifelong love of learning and explaining, and have always been interested in practically every subject. But while I am a generalist - I feel as comfortable with Russian literature and music as I do with mathematics and military history - I know that for ... [more]

I am an aspiring math teacher with experience tutoring both high school and college students in math, science, and several other courses. In spring 2018, Geometry was one of the primary courses I tutored students in while working as a paraprofessional (teaching assistant) at the Woodward Academy (Woodward, IA). Geometry has always been one of my favorite subjects in math ever since I was first introduced to it as a high school student. I had an excellent teacher who explained things well and the course content seemed to come naturally to me, especially the proofs. [more]
