I earned an A in geometry in junior high school, and have used it throughout the remainder of my math and engineering studies. I have tutored students in geometry for the past seven years and have helped many students with this subject. I am particularly skilled at helping to make the subject matter understandable by cutting through the technical terms and explaining the topic in plain language. Hi! Math is all around us, and I believe that we all need to know how to use it in our daily lives. Unfortunately, math can be mysterious and difficult to understand at times. Sometimes a little extr [more]

I have taught many sections of Geometry at the high school level. In fact, this is one of my favorite topics to teach and tutor. I have a background in art and so Geometry comes as something easy for me because I can "see" how the math works. Let me "show" you Geometry! I am a graduate of UC San Diego with a degree in Management Science and a minor in Art. I have a Master of Education from UC San Diego with credentials to teach Mathematics and Physics. I have supplemental credentials to also teach Business, Economics, and Art. As a high school student I scored 790 on my SAT Math, 800 on [more]

Hello! I have been a tutor formally for three years, and informally for five years, working independently and with agencies alike. I am a senior at San Diego State University, working toward my Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Chemistry. I am also currently performing research in an analytical chemistry lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at SDSU. I am very qualified and experienced in general chemistry, and have been tutoring chemistry for three ... [more]

I have taught this course in high school and have tutored students in it for over 10 years. I am certified to teach all levels of math in California high schools. I have found Geometry, due to its visual aspect one of the easier courses to simplify. Hi, my name is Fred. I have taught and tutored math in both high school and Grossmont College for over 15 years. I am certified to teach all levels of math in high school and have a Master's in Statistics/Biostatistics at SDSU. I truly enjoy teaching and tutoring students in math and statistics and I believe my student ratings reflect that. M [more]

Mathematics, Chemistry, and Science take effort to master but you should know that you can do them. The thought processes may be different than what you are used to, but once you become familiar with them, you can prosper in these subjects. I have worked with learners from a wide range of backgrounds. While I cannot say there won't be hard work and effort involved on your part, you can learn, and even enjoy, these subjects. I worked as a research scientist in applying chemistry and mathemati... [more]

I am a well-educated healthcare professional with a desire to help others not just learn, but really comprehend mathematics. From my own learning experiences, I believe that in order to truly "get it", no matter what it is one is trying to "get", he or she must understand why they are doing whatever it is they are trying to learn in the first place. A students A+ progress begins with an A+ teacher who expresses each and every detail of the subject and knows exactly what manner in which to del... [more]

As a B.S. graduate, mathematics have been an integral part of my student life, up to and including calculus and physics. Geometry is a visual math, yet I have noticed that few people teach it as such. I like to use plenty of visual and kinetic applications to portray the material in a way meaningful to the student. As a graduate from San Diego State University, I strongly believe that focus and motivation are the primary and essential ingredients of success. These items cannot be taught, but must be self-discovered with confidence and determination. Thus, a good tutor is not just a qualified t [more]

I have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from UCSD. My favorite subjects are math and science, and I have been tutoring for over 15 years to students of all ages, K-12 and college. My tutoring sessions are very effective. Within the first session, I am able to pinpoint exactly what is hindering a student from understanding the subject matter. From there, I work with the student to help them understand the basics of the problem by using effective math methods, such as real life ... [more]

I completed my MS in Computer Science in the year 1995 from Clemson University. I had a stint in the Software industry for a while. I worked with big companies like Oracle and Cisco (was there for about 8 years total). While working I used to take time out on the weekends to teach (not so privileged) kids in a community college nearby. This developed into a habit and I thought of formalizing it. I enrolled myself with a professor to take her regular classes as well, so she could take time out... [more]

As a previous high school math tutor, I know how difficult math is for some people. I enjoyed helping student with their homework and test, and I feel pleasant when I hear that they enjoyed working with me. I love working with student individually because they will have more opportunity to share their problem and ask question that they feel shy asking in front of the whole class. I graduated from San Diego State University as civil engineering major. I tutored high school level math for a... [more]
