I have tutored geometry over many years, and have seen how the teaching of the subject has changed. I have adapted my tutoring approach as the curriculum has been redesigned, always with the needs of my students my first priority. My objective in tutoring is to help my students reach their goals. In practice, this means that I work hard to assist my students in understanding the subject matter while also teaching the student to become an independent learner. My years of experience have given me the skills to put concepts in terms that students will understand. I have many years of experience [more]

Geometry was my favorite math course in HS and I had an excellent instructor. Teaching is my passion and my life's work. For more than 20 years I've had the thrill of helping young people master difficult subjects from HS science and math to college-level organic and medicinal chemistry. Seventeen of those years were spent teaching science (chemistry, AP Chemistry, biology, oceanography, and forensic science) at Gilmour Academy. I am now tutoring full time in the subject I love - Organic Chemistry! Working with students one-on-one allows me to tailor my approach to ... [more]
