I have taught Geometry remediation at the Army and Navy Academy. I am very familiar with the topics that students have trouble with. I have been teaching Physics for the past 5 years and I truly love it. Before that, I tutored it for 4 years. In college I chose Physics as my major because I enjoyed it and it made sense to me. I decided to tutor it because I wanted others to see the same things. My goal, still, is to show my students that Physics is not hard and can be fun to learn. I have taught at large public schools and small private ones. I am not limited to Physics though, I have al [more]

I have/am tutoring several students in geometry. I am able to help them improve their visual perception to allow them to solve the problems more easily. Also I will be able to help them improve their skill in solving proofs by emphasizing that it is like an interesting puzzle. However, like all puzzles they need to have the proper pieces (theorems, corollaries, etc.) to put it together. I have a passion for helping young people in maximizing their potential and fully utilizing their talents and capabilities. I am very patient and able to diagnose the needs of each student under my care. In add [more]

Geometry is one of those classes that some students really struggle with. Not only have I tutored Geometry for years, but I've also taught it! I've learned that there are a variety of ways to approach the subject, and not all of them work for every student. When I tutor, I try to find the right approaches for whoever I'm working with. I've been tutoring since I was in the AVID program at Westview High School. While attending UC Santa Cruz and majoring in Neuroscience I tutored English/Math/Science/Social Science/Test Prep for 6-12 graders. After graduating I began teaching at a local high scho [more]

My name is Christopher and I am a recent graduate of Cal Poly Pomona. I finished my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an overall GPA of 3.4 this past summer and am looking to give back to the community. I figured what better way to do this than to help students reach their goals and provide them with future opportunities. During my time at Cal Poly Pomona, I aspired to excel in my coursework. With this, I was also able to enjoy helping my friends and classmates unde... [more]

I have been tutoring in an official capacity for almost two years and for much longer than that unofficially. I was the "go-to guy" among my school friends for math help! I have tutoring experience with geometry honors, algebra I and II honors, statistics, business math, SAT math, and the CAHSEE. I've also worked as a tutor for Claire B... [more]

I'm a college professor with 25+ years of experience teaching mathematics and computer programming. My favorite subjects include precalculus, calculus, linear algebra, optimization and numerical analysis. I believe the only way to learn mathematics or computer programming is by working through many exercises and problems. There's no way around this. It doesn't matter how well a lecture is presented or how good the teacher is. If you don't do the work yourself, you'll probably not succeed. ... [more]
