Hello, prospective student. My name is Daniel. I studied the liberal arts at North Carolina State University and graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English (cum laude). My educational background is rooted across many subjects, and I often teach with an interdisciplinary approach. And although I could teach a diverse range of subjects, I strictly specialize in mathematics and the English language, specifically up to college level Calculus and writing. My teaching style va... Geometry was mastered by early Greeks and Egyptians centuries ago, but is still problematic for today's students. With an underlying foundation of algebra, geometry then expands to concepts, postulates, theorems, and relationships involving lines, plane or solid shapes, etc. I have taught geometry to middle grades and high school students, including honors geometry. I enjoy eliciting from students the thinking involved in solving geometric problems, and can provide insight into relationships between topics or multiple strategies for solving them. [more]

Between my high level of math coursework and many chemistry classes, I've had to work with many complex and interesting geometric problems. I have also tutored geometry students for the last 2 years. I have always enjoyed teaching and tutoring. Even when I studied for my own classes, I would always study in groups and would help teach others concepts I had already mastered. My first official teaching position was as a Teacher's Assistant at Kalamazoo College in General Chemistry my senior year at Kalamazoo College. My job was to lead a group of 10 students through a review/homework session onc [more]

Whenever I am working with a student, I strive to make learning easy and fun, and above all to explain concepts in ways that you can relate to. Not everyone learns the same way and that is okay! whether you or your student needs to clarify concepts or in depth work to bring them up to speed, my teaching style is tailored to each individual, using a pace that is appropriate. I strive to help students understand the core concepts and building blocks necessary to succeed not only in their curr... [more]

I am a high school math teacher who has taught 7-12th grades in subjects including: 7th and 8th grade math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Math 1-3 (common core), AP Statistics. I also am very familiar with NC Math 1 EOC content and NC Final Exams for Math 2 and 3. In the classroom and in my tutoring sessions I look to help students not "just learn material for the test or pass the course", rather I try to induce quicker arithmetic and critical thinking strategies that give students the abilit... Hello, I am a math teacher who has taught in public school for over 19 years. I received my bachelors' degree in mathematics and a masters' degree in secondary education from the same university. In those years I have learned that you never stop learning. I recently returned to college and received a masters in accounting. While in college I tutored others who found math a bit difficult. I enjoy tutoring for two reasons. The first reason is it gives me the opportunity to use the kno... [more]

During geometry sessions the student will learn about the different types of angles, triangle classification, surface area calculation (cylinders, cones, spheres), and graphing lines. I am a graduate of the University of Florida and Yale University. I am fluent in Russian, Hebrew, French, and Spanish and have intermediate knowledge of German. I can tutor students in reading, writing, listening comprehension, and speaking in the above languages. I have tutored independently and for a center over the course of the last few years. I am in grad school for health sciences and enjoy tutoring mathematics. I have tutored elementary school through college algebra, and even helped my best friend (who swore she could not do math) get an A in her college algebra. If you put in the work, anything is possible. I enjoy being able to help students not only improve their grades but gain an understanding of how to do approach math pro... [more]
