I have a bachelors degree in chemistry from a small school in Arkansas, though I took organic chemistry for majors at our own CSU! I love chemistry, am a nerd through and through. During my studies, I tutored in organic chemistry, as well as doing TA work for a chemistry class. Additionally, I've had seven internships in organic, analytical, polymer, and forensic chemistry, the most recent of which were in Germany! All that required a bit of technical writing, and I enjoy creative languag... [more]

I have been tutoring math since I was in high school, taking more of a teaching role in grad school. As an undergrad, I focused more on tutoring math/physics students in Geometry and Trigonometry. In grad school, I have spent a number of years teaching in physics courses. In these courses, I help students review/learn geometry and how it is utilized in subjects such as physics. I All these years of teaching have helped develop my understanding and skill at teaching geometry. I find that in order to progress, one must master the fundamentals. I hope to help students solidify there understandin [more]

I have always liked math and it is even more enjoyable for me when I can help someone else understand it. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and through earning that I have understood how important it is to have a good foundation in the basics of mathematics. I've seen a lot of my fellow college classmates, friends, and relatives give up on math because it is too difficult for them to understand, but that isn't true! Everyone can learn math but it may just take a different approach than... [more]

I worked with students on their online math as well as their MathMates. Both included geometry, so I've learned helpful tips to better assist my students. I've always loved learning. I know understanding certain subjects may be difficult for students, so I've worked to help them better obtain the knowledge they need. Whether I was tutoring peers older than me, younger, or my age, I chose to help those around me succeed. Now that I'm in college, I've been working as a substitute for Belle Creek Charter and at their after school program, Springboard Education. My students in Springboard often [more]

Geometry can be especially difficult for a lot of students. It requires students to take a step back from what they know of arithmetic and Algebra and really look at a lot of new ideas. It is this unique way of thinking mathematically that is so difficult for students to grasp, but I think I have found ways to help. I have seen many students turn their grades around when they thought it was far too late, and it is truly amazing to watch that happen. As a chemistry graduate student, I am constantly refining my skills as an educator as well as a student. After amassing thousands of hours of prof [more]
