Lately I have been helping high school students and a GMAT student with their geometry. I really enjoy it! As a mathematician with an analysis bent, I can help to understand how to construct a SOLID proof ... plus the calculations are FUN, too. I actually taught one section of a graduate Geometry course for teachers at the university level, too. And having taught linear algebra gives me even more insight into the usefulness of geometry ASIDE from an exercise at proof construction. 8-) I hold two master's degrees -- one in applied mathematics, one in physics. I started teaching math in 1999. [more]

My name is Dan. I have a BS degree in mathematics and an MS degree in statistics. My relevant experience consists of teaching first year college mathematics courses, business statistics, and computer programming. I tutored students in statistics, calculus, and high school mathematics. My teaching and tutoring methods are to walk step by step right along with the students as we conquer the subject matter together. I want to tutor face to face; I will be available by telephone to consult w... [more]

I enjoy math, problem solving, and I enjoy helping others! Throughout elementary, middle school, high school, and college I have always excelled in math. I graduated at the top of my Engineering class and I have over 15 years of technical engineering experience. In 2014, I was awarded the BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year Award) Modern Day Technology Leader by my employer. I worked hard to graduate top of my class (magna cum laude) from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. During my college years I went through the normal ups and downs of gett [more]

I enjoy sharing knowledge. I've been a teacher and a tutor in the past. I have a sincere fondness for mathematics, in fact it is the only reason one of my two majors in college was mathematics. I'm a software systems engineer by trade. I want you to enjoy these sessions too, or at a minimum, feel good about them. I enjoy Mathematics and Logic, and the opportunity to review, discuss, and learn is always welcome. I've tutored both Math and Computer Science in the past. I've also been a teacher at the college level. I enjoy sharing information, and find tutoring to be both fun and rewarding. P [more]

I am a recent graduate of Samford University and hold a Bachelor's of Science. I have a year of tutoring experience in various subjects. I am an Eagle Scout as well as a formerly registered Emergency Medical Technician, however, I have since let that certification expire after my time was consumed by university curriculum. I have a passion for learning and a knack for breaking things down into understandable terms. I have experience in multiple disciplines of math such as algebra, geometr... [more]

Hi! I am a patient and friendly tutor that will work with students to help master a given area of study. As students have various levels of understanding on a specific subject, I first try and find out what your current level is so I can adjust the tutoring sessions accordingly. I am very good at helping students understand concepts and the broader picture when relevant. I help students learn to solve problems on their own by breaking the problems down into simpler steps and showing how probl... [more]

I graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1988. My GPA in math subjects was over 3.5, I have 4 years of experience tutoring my peers at the college level. This experience allowed me to tutor fellow undergraduate students in math as part of the college work study program. I also have over 20 years of experience tutoring family, friends, and church members. Earlier this year, I tutored my wife in Calculus and she earned an A. I posse... [more]

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I have worked with students of all ages. I believe that every child can learn, but children learn in their way at their own pace. Many students tend to be intimidated by math and I try to encourage confidence and a positive attitude towards math. I enjoy working with students on their mathematical journey. I specialize in elementary math, algebra, and geometry. I work to identify each student's mathematical strengths and weaknesses. I plan lessons that... [more]

I am certified in Elementary Education in the state of Alabama and have five years' experience teaching English to Korean students in South Korea. This experience allowed me to build my communication skills and allowed me to see how important it is to break through language barriers to improve the learning experience for all students. I care about each and every student succeeding and understand that we do not all learn in the same way or at the sane rate. I believe that we all need indiv... [more]

I have BA and MS in Physics and PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Earlier I did theoretical research in fluid mechanics and acoustics related to the NASA Microgravity Program. More recently I worked in the area of computational fluid mechanics, again related to the NASA Space program. Now I have just retired. I plan to spend my retirement time in something worthwhile, including helping students in math and physics. I had tutoring experience when I was in high school and university. ... [more]
