I've tutored students in geometry for over 5 years, including students in Honors Geometry courses. I also recognize the importance of providing visuals, especially in geometry, for students who benefit from seeing content presented in multiple ways. Furthermore, I have experience with group tutoring for geometry and in applying collaborative learning techniques to make the material more palatable and fun for students. Tutoring has been passion of mine for about 5 years. I'm great at taking complicated concepts and reintroducing them in a more palatable form. I love being able to draw from ever [more]

I have tutored geometry since 2013 and taught the subject since 2016. I have had many experiences tutoring one-on-one or group sessions. The feedback from students is positive, and I feel that I am good at breaking down algebraic concepts that are typically difficult for first-time learners. Hi, I'm Jared. I graduated from FSU with a B.S. in mathematics, and taught highschool mathematics for the past 2 years before deciding to return to school to work on my M.S. in mathematics. I have always had a passion for math, but it wasn't until halfway through my undergraduate career at FSU that I real [more]

Hi! My name is Kelly and I've been tutoring for over 10 years. I am a results-oriented, strict but patient tutor. I look for ways to engage the student and keep them interested in learning more. My tutoring experience: I helped elementary school kids with reading while in high school. During college (I double majored in Economics and Psychology), I tutored high school students in mathematics and SAT Prep and elementary/junior high kids in math and reading. After I graduated, I moved to... [more]

As a recent law graduate, and as a result of taking a diverse set of courses during my undergraduate education, I have a wide range of substantive knowledge in many areas. I also am very familiar with various study strategies and techniques, and I understand the importance of practice. Although I have no formal teaching or tutoring experience, I have participated in study groups throughout my post-secondary education, and this often involved thinking through complex concepts and explaining t... I have been tutoring and working with students for quite some time in the area of mathematics. I have a degree in business from The Florida State University and also have a tennis business that I manage. I am currently employed by Kelly Educational Staffing and plan on taking the state math exams in the near future. I work in the school system often, mostly at the middle school level. I know what it takes to be good in math and I am looking forward to working with your son/daughter. I rec... [more]

I am an Electrical Engineering Graduate, a High School Math Teacher, and a Math Tutor for the past 4 years. I have always had a love for math since grade school but I didn't always make straight A's. The teachers I had were mundane and did not stimulate me until 10th grade when I took Algebra II. This particular teacher turned math around for me by making it more easier to understand. She had unique tips to decode difficult math concepts through her colorful teaching style and visual techni... [more]

Certified in the State of Florida, Secondary Mathematics. I recently retired from a 38 year career in Education, both public and private. During this time, I served as both a Teacher and Administrator. Most recently my assignment was teaching at Sandalwood High School. The classes assigned to me included Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Math for College Readiness. I found my time in the classroom to be very rewarding and my students showed gains in all subject areas. My tutoring experience has been predominantly outside my assigned school. I enjoy th... [more]

I've been a private tutor for over 15 years. As an undergraduate at University of Central Florida (GO KNIGHTS!), I worked part-time as a tutor in the Math Dept.'s Math Lab. There I learned those techniques most effective to bring a student along further than they'd even thought possible. I gained from that time an appreciation for educating others, and sharing with them the joy that comes with understanding new concepts and widening one's perspective. I offer experience that can only be... [more]

I have taken and passed Geometry, receiving an A in the course. In addition to this course, I have taken and passed upper level math courses including Algebra 2, Calculus, and Calculus 2. On both the ACT and SAT, I did fairly well in the Geometry math section. Tutoring/teaching is something I love doing. The mutual benefits between those I work with and myself are boundless. And by no means are those benefits strictly related to academia. With each new lesson, I get a great deal of satisfaction not only making a new or foreign concept make sense, but learning about the interactive personalitie [more]
