I have taught geometry over the years while being a high school teacher. I have been teaching mathematics at a local High School for 21 years. I have taught every level in those years from basic algebra to AP Calculus and everything in between. I absolutely love my job teaching and working with young people. I understand that math is not everyone's favorite subject as it was not always mine throughout high school. I tested out of General Chemistry and received a 4 on the AP chemistry test as a Junior. I would like to be a tutor because I find working one-on-one with someone is the best way to learn difficult material. I am a very patient teacher and I also know how difficult a subject is by just reading the book by yourself. I made the dean's list in GRCC before I transferred to the University of Michigan. I've taken Organic Chemistry courses and also passed out of General Chemistry courses as well. ... [more]

I took college calculus and might only need to briefly brush-up on some aspects of Trigonometry. I always felt comfortable with Geometry in that I was able to understand the relations first and in some cases could then generate the formula logically from that understanding. I have taught at the college or university level for almost ten years now. I have a broad base of understandings and have taught classes from humanities to finance to economics to literature. I love geometry because it involves reasoning more than just straight calculation. The key to learning geometry is for the student to solve problems by finding the information that is implied in the problem. This involves applying the knowledge that we already know such as what are supplementary angles. I believe that math is fun. One of the great difficulties many students face is the self fulfilling prophecy that I have always been poor at math and I will always be poor at math. The key to success is for the student to believe that they can become better at math. Therefore I have the st [more]
