Teaching is what I do! I have TAed multiple classes and taught dozens of students piano and STEM topics. I tutor students in all math categories, physics, chemistry, biology, and others, as well as teach piano! I only teach concepts that I'm completely fluent in, however, so you always get the absolute best instruction possible! For STEM teaching, I have tutored over 2 dozen students and helped many achieve great results. I have tutored students in math ranging from Prealgebra to Calculus... [more]

I tutored Geometry students at a High School. From understanding the "Why" of proofs to using all kinds of tools to calculate that angle, I have it covered. Confidence is one of the most important aspects of academic achievement. I build student confidence by asking questions and creating a scaffold for students to learn with. This formula encourages students to take an active role in their learning. When students find the answers themselves, they are much more likely to remember those answers when they need them, be it on the ACT or in college courses. One of the best things about this method [more]

Hello! My name is Christine, and I have been teaching since 2004. I have a B.S. in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley and a M.S. in mathematics from California State University. I currently teach at the University level and have taught everything from basic math and algebra all the way up to calculus. I started my college career at a community college. The first class I ever taught was Intro to Statistics and it is the class I have taught more than any other course. I have also taught... [more]

I have over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring at the high school and college levels. I received my bachelor's degree in Physics from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and my master's degree in Physics from the University of Utah. Subjects I have taught include the following: Physics (Classical Mechanics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Harmonics and Wave Motion, Special Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics) and Math (Algebra [I, II, and College], Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre... I have other thirty-five years of teaching/tutoring experience beginning in 1977 as the manager/tutor of the Stanford Tutoring Service in Palo Alto, California. There are few things more gratifying to me than the look of satisfaction in the eyes of a student for whom the math mystery has been revealed! I have over 70 hours on Wyzant and each new student, each new challenge, brings me tremendous satisfaction! I am passionate about learning and about sharing that passion with students.... [more]

I'm a lifelong learner who enjoys sharing my passion for learning with others. I enjoy teaching and I'm patient with students. I focus on coaching students on the learning process as well as the content. I believe that every student is unique and work with each to find approaches to learning, studying and academic success that are attuned to their individuality. I attended a private college prep high school. I took 7 AP courses in high school and work with students taking AP classes. I ... [more]

Geometry is perhaps the key subject to truly understanding (and not simply route learning) mathematics that opens the door to algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and beyond. I have taught high school and college students in geometry, algebra I, and algebra II with this approach in mind and have helped them improve their class scores (some by as many as 20 points in a short couple of months!) and methods for test preparation (such as for the End of Course test). My passion for mathematics and abstract critical thinking, I believe, make my instruction as practical and even enjoyable for students as [more]

I have over ten years experience teaching and tutoring. I taught algebra and geometry at a Denver Public School and developed a competency-based model of instruction. In addition to private tutoring, I currently tutor at Red Rocks Community College. Your success is my goal, and as your tutor I will: listen to your goals, leverage your strengths, improve areas of growth, advocate for your success, build a team of support, and ensure growth by tracking mastery/grades/scores. I studied engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This provided me with a strong foundation in high level m [more]

The study of logic, angles, and shapes. Geometry challenges students to think abstractly and to grow as a math student. I have taught Algebra through Pre-Calculus for 5 years and tutored all levels of college math for 4 years. I enjoy helping a student see the fun and excitement in learning that he or she can be good at math. Many times there are several ways to reach a solution to a math problem. I help a student find their best route.... [more]

I've been teaching Geometry, as well as many other math subjects, for my entire tutoring career. I started teaching math over 7 years ago and it's one of my most popular subjects. I'm confident in all areas of Geometry. Most of my students earn A's in class or recover significantly from low grades. My ACT/SAT students have earned over $1,000,000 in scholarships and they consistently score 26-36 (ACT), 1200+ (SAT) & improve 2 letter grades in class. My 2016-2017 students earned ACT scores from 24 to 34 (these students earned a 34, 33, 33, 33, 30, 29, 29, 28, 27, 26, 26, 26, and 24 respectively; [more]
