I have over 4 years teaching experience with Geometry, having taught it for 3 and a half years full-time at a high school, and 3 years of teaching ACT math prep classes which has a lot of Geometry content (each program lasts for 8 weeks and I'm currently in my 3rd year). Geometry has been one of my favorite subjects to teach! Hello! I am a 32-year-old licensed teacher who specializes in high school level math. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (Illinois Wesleyan University) and another BS degree in Education (Trinity Christian College). My areas of expertise is Pre-Algebra up to Algebr [more]

I have taught Geometry for over 15 years. I can tutor students on how to structure proofs. I can also instruct them on how to draw diagrams to clarify complex problems. There are many formulas in geometry that can be categorized to help students understand when to use them. I have taught high school math for over 30 years and I am certified to teach math in grades 6 - 12. The classes that I have taught include, General Math, Introduction to Algebra, Geometry, Topics in Algebra 2, and Algebra II/Trigonometry. I have also taught some math classes at the college level. Those courses includ [more]

I came to tutor geometry through teaching and tutoring standardized tests like the GMAT and the ACT. Because so much of geometry is based on concepts that can be illustrated, many students who otherwise struggle in math have a predilection for and strength in geometry. As a tutor, I'm able to emphasize whatever those aspects are that make sense to a particular student, capitalizing on a student's preference for the literal (figures) or the figurative (algebra) and relating concepts thematically so every student comes away an expert in geometry. As a substitute teacher in two different school districts working in one for six years and one for two years and being a recently certified K-9 teacher I always enjoy teaching Geometry. It is the one Math subject where you get to use three dimensional shapes, work with lies and shapes and triangles and parallel and perpendicular lines. You also get to draw triangles and angles and measure them with a protractor. I cannot draw at all but working in Geometry is always fun and is easy once you understand the basics and realize that formulas are involved to figure out area, perimeter and volume [more]

Geometry has always been one of my favorite subjects. I was a physics minor in college, and my coursework in math and in physics required a mastery of this subject. Since 1998, I've helped students improve their understanding of geometry, and I've worked with young men and women at all ability levels. I am a former Princeton Review tutor, and I'm a top 1-3% scorer in the math sections of the ACT, SAT, and GRE. I absolutely love helping students succeed, and have been involved in the field of education since the late 1990s. I am an expert on local history, and have experience working for an [more]
