When I became a college student, I was offered a position at my University's math tutoring center. Because of my previous experiences as a tutor, I was up for the new challenge. During my Sophomore year, I became a Teacher's Assistant working in classes of 25-40 students. Throughout my various experiences, I learned that I had a knack for figuring out the way people think and what methods help certain people grasp a new concept best. A problem facing many students in Math is that a majority ... [more]

I am certified to teach math K-12. Geometry is unlike any other math subject that students will encounter in their lives. Also, this is the subject where students first encounter formal proofs. I work with students to learn logic needed for proofs, and to create proofs on their own. I also emphasize the importance of drawing and marking correctly on the pictures so that it is easier to solve problems. I believe that every student is capable of learning. My goal is to allow them to reach their maximum potential by getting them interested in the subject, making them think, and teaching them in t [more]

If you're looking for somebody to either help you catch up in math, or get ahead in math, I'm your guy. I was a math major at Washington University in St. Louis, and minored in German, economics, and writing. While there, I tutored students in everything from counting to calculus, and beyond. I then earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Bard College in '07. I've been tutoring for 12+ years, and full-time for 10+. I've had students between the ages of 6 and 66, with a focus on high sc... [more]

Hi there! I received a 100 in my Geometry class when I took it in high school and scored a 100 on my NY State Regents. I have been tutoring Geometry ever since and have noticed that my students have an easier time in Trigonometry and Calculus because I focus on topics that will appear in future math courses as well. Hey there! My name is Sean and I am a Computer Scientist from Rutgers University. When I first started my college journey, I hadn't a clue about what I wanted to do. Over the years, I've narrowed it down to two things: I love working with people, and I love helping them learn. I've spent years working for other tutoring/test prep companies and have decided to venture out on my own. As a graduate with a degree in Biochemistry, I have a very strong foundation in math and science. When I took my own SAT over 10 years ago, I scored a 2220 (with an 800 on Math, 700 in Reading,... ** Thanks to the amazing power of technology, I am able to work with top students from all over the world through online lessons. I am nearing full capacity for 2019 students (online only), so I request that all new students reach out in advance if interested in booking a weekly time-slot. Due to my style of teaching, the personalized curricula I design, and the amount of homework I assign in between lessons, I am not the best fit for students looking for last minute test prep. Thank you for ... [more]

I am a former NYC high school Geometry teacher and I was considered "extremely hard" for teaching proofs to my students. But my students were the only ones doing geometric proofs in the NY Reagents in the whole school. I have also designed summer program for students who want to get a head-start in Geometry. I even wrote a mini-Geometry book for this purpose. I can cover most major topics in Geometry in little as one month (it all depends on how motivated your child is) but most will take six-weeks (5 days a week). [more]
