Geometry is the basis for all higher math. This is where the concepts begin to get really abstract and it is very important to be able to find ways to visualize what is happening. If one can create a picture of what is happening in one?s mind, one can then remember the concepts and apply them to the situations which will be used in geometry and onwards. One of the ways I help students with this is by having them use what I call a ?trivial example?, which is an example of the rule which is so easy that I can?t get it wrong! This can help a student check the correct method even in a high-st [more]

I have a Masters degree from Western Illinois University. I have tutored many students in the past with proven success. I have found that students who struggle with math need the 1 on 1 attention that tutoring provides. It is evident that students who struggle in math often have gaps in the curriculum, which prevent them from connecting the sequential concepts. Tutoring provides the opportunity for students to grasp the connections from one concept to the next. I love being able to help stude... [more]

I have a degree in Mathematics and several years of tutoring experience. I have worked with kids from Kindergarten all the way up to high school Calculus. I also have worked with college-level students, including back-to-school adult learners, in subjects from College Algebra all the way up to higher level maths that involve proof writing (Matrix Theory, Abstract Algebra, etc.). Due to the large age range of students that I tutor, I have found that there is no 'one-fits-all' method to tea... [more]
