I have tutored honors and standard level geometry during the school year, and, additionally, I have taught an accelerated honors geometry course over the summer. I took Honors Geometry my freshman year of high school and have continuously used the concepts in subsequent math classes. The topics of geometry have recently re-emerged heavily in engineering classes allowing me to rediscover the tools geometry offers and how it can applied in real-life practices. I have tutored this subject on various occasions to prepare students back home in New York for state-wide standardized tests. Consequently, I have learned useful skills and strategies for breaking down the material and offering tips and tricks for test taking. [more]

I have both classroom and tutoring experience. My degrees are in math education, which includes geometry. We use math every day, even when it doesn't seem like it. I like to help learners figure out applications of the math they want to master - and then approach it as a puzzle they might face in daily living. I have taught math in junior high, high school and college, as well as on the job in a wide range of fields. I love math and try to help learners love it, too... or at least have an open mind. ... I have tutored in Geometry for over 10 years and of all the topics in math it is my favorite! I use the concepts of structure and logic that are the foundations of Geometry to show the beauty of this field. Geometry is about spatial relationships and can be taught in cross-over areas such as architecture and design. Seeing and understanding how things fit together is one of the coolest things about all math. I am a certified teacher in 4 areas: Math, Science, Social Studies and Business Technology. I have a undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Illinois and a MBA in Finance from [more]

When first enrolling in college, I initially pursued a degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations at Union College. Afterwards, I began working in finance as a personal banker before moving on to investment banking. Though I enjoyed the experience and relationships I gained working in finance, I knew that I would feel unfulfilled until I returned to my true passion: teaching and K - 10 mathematics. I decided to re-enroll and earned my second degree in Secondary Education with a... [more]
