Having taught geometry in college and tutored numerous other students personally in geometry, I am very comfortable with the concepts and principles that are most important in learning it. More importantly, I have applied it to practical problems and everyday decisions, so I am able to illustrate its value and application to both beginning and advanced students. As a math major in college and a management science PhD, I can attest to the importance of mastering Geometry. It is a foundation course for both higher math and science education. It is also very useful in several quantitative bus [more]

I am very familiar with geometry. Through years of teaching I have come up with ways to explain the tricky concepts from different perspectives. And I am able to come up with practice problems on the fly to help my student drill and reinforce important concepts. I hold a master's degree in mathematics from University of Houston and a master's degree in electrical engineering from a prestigious university in China. I have very extensive experience in teaching and tutoring various subjects in mathematics. While at University of Houston, I taught college algebra, calculus I and calculus II fo [more]

I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2010 and had majored in Chemistry. I had also taken handful of higher level math classes. I am working on my master's degree right now. I love teaching and interacting with students. I have been a teaching assistant for general chemistry and college physics courses for almost two years. In addition, I have been a course assistant for chemistry and physics courses and also have been tutoring math classes. The most rewarding part of my career as... [more]

Geometry requires learning a large set of rules and knowing how to apply these concepts to a given problem. In our tutoring sessions, we?ll solve problems by first reviewing some of the key theorems, postulates, symbols, and formulas that may be making your head swim. We?ll then think through the problem-solving steps so that you can choose the right concepts to support each proof or work out each solution. I can also review Algebra 1 concepts as needed. I?m Laura, and I prepare high school students in all sections of the ACT and SAT. I have worked for three tutoring companies and have also ta [more]

Hello, My name is Lauryn and I am a recent graduate from Oklahoma State University. I graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in mathematics and psychology - a strange combination, but a fun one. I love math, but, even more importantly, love helping others develop a better understanding of mathematics. Given the right approach and the proper encouragement, I thoroughly believe that anyone can excel in the subject of math and even develop a love for it. As part of my educa... [more]

Throughout various times in my career I have taught high school Geometry and Algebra to those who were struggling in these subjects. I am a 26 year veteran teacher who has worked extensively in the core subjects with children who have difficulty learning and are considered at risk. My experience and degrees are in the areas of Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Reading. I have extensive expertise in the areas of reading, math and the process of learning, and the development of language acquisition. Since I grew up in a mathematical household (my father being on of the top 10 engineers in the c [more]

I am a certified 8-12 TX math teacher, and I have taught and tutored Geometry for over five years. Geometry is my subject of focus as a curriculum writer, and I have a passion for the problem solving and development of theorems the course offers. I am very comfortable working with students in this subject, both in standard and advanced courses. I have five years of experience as a certified high school mathematics teacher in Texas. During those years, I taught Geometry, Pre-AP Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and STAAR EOC Algebra I test preparation. I've worked very close with other te [more]

Dear prospective student, Solving the problems is just half of the objective of a tutoring session. The most important thing is learning how to come from the basic principles (from lectures and notes) to the solution of each problem. With the ability to do that, you can solve similar problems on your quizzes, lab reports, tests, exams (SAT, SAT 2). If you have problems in Biology, General Chemistry, General Physics, Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I and II, I could be a resource for you. G... [more]

Geometry has long been a strong subject for me. From elementary through high school, I won several math competitions in geometry. In teaching geometry, I approach the subject from multiple perspectives, to see which one helps the student understand the material the best. Some students really respond to visual representations of the material, while others have an easier time with formulas and algebraic expressions. I am comfortable presenting the material either way, according to what works best for the student. [more]

I am currently teaching geometry. I love geometry because it requires logical reasoning. It is a very visual subject and I am a very visual learner and teacher. Geometry problems are based on figures and real-world applications. I can help students make sense of those postulates and theorems! I have more than 2 decades of experience (K-highschool)in the classroom and tutoring (general education and special ed). I enjoy teaching students of all ages (including college age). I believe that math should be meaningful and will help my students see how math connects to the real world. My focus [more]
