As a practicing Civil Engineer, I use math and science daily at work. I have been helping students increase their confidence and grades in Geometry since 2004. Seeing a student succeed is the best part about being a tutor. I have helped many students earn higher grades and better test scores than they ever thought possible. My method of teaching is geared towards complete comprehension and mastery of a topic; I will ensure that your student can work out test problems and employ critical thinking skills on their own. Every student has the potential to succeed in any subject; I am only here to f [more]

My freshmen year of high school I took Honors Geometry and it paved the way for my high school career with only Honors or AP courses in math and science. This played a large part in my decision to obtain a B.A. in Mathematics. I am a Math graduate from California State University of San Bernardino, where I received my BA in Math. I have been tutoring privately and at schools since 2002 in various subjects such as physics, mathematics, and chemistry. My first experience tutoring was at my high school as a paid tutor. As geometry is commonly taken after algebra 1, it is a large deviation from previous topics. Because of this students are commonly confused at the beginning and might not recover well. The idea of a conceptual and non-algebraic proof is somewhere I see a lot of students go wrong. When working with geometry definitions, theorems and postulates play a much larger role than in algebra. Hi all, My name is Josh. Thank you for taking the time to consider me as a tutor. I am currently a Math Professor at a local community college and Cal Poly Pomona. I would recommend reading some of my students' re [more]
